Hi everyone,

My husband and I are currently preparing the documents needed for spousal sponsorship once I land in Canada. However, I read in the form that I must submit a copy of my PR card. I have read that it may take 3 - 4 months to actually receive the PR card once landed in Quebec.

My question is, is it possible to submit for spousal sponsorship with just a copy of my COPR once I land in Quebec? I have tried searching for answers but I haven't seen any confirmation of its possibility. Anyone have a link to shed some light on this?

Why isn't he landing with you? Is he included as non-accompanying?

A copy of the COPR is fine.

Hi,

Thank you for your response. Yes, he is listed as non-accompanying. We got married when I received my CSQ, did the update and added him as spouse. We both were requested for medical then I received my Visa afterwards.

I will submit the sponsorship then when I land in Quebec. Is there anything else I should be wary of regarding this? I saw some post that an explanation why I can't submit a copy of the PR card is advised.

Hello Friends

I ve got my immigration in 2016 (was single at that time), stayed in Canada from May to Sept 2016.

Now planning to go back and file the case for my wife and daughter within 15 days of landing in Canada.

Would appreciate suggestions on below queries:

1.) Do I have to fill separate forms or both or can 01 set of forms is enough.
2.) I'll be searching for job once I'll land, would this be a problem, CIC website says that I just need to give affidavit that i'll be responsible for their expenses.
3.) Is there any thing I need to keep in mind to avoid delays

Regards

Yes, you should submit an explanation of why there is no PR card. Note that you are required to be in Canada for the entire sponsorship process. A few short trips are generally allowed.

Hi all,
I am trying to sponsor my husband. He is a January 2018 applicant.
His application was sent to Delhi Visa Office in April 2018
Medical was done in March 2018
In July 2018, when I inquired about his application I received an email in August 2018 that his "application awaits an initial review in LONDON"
I never received any emails or letter for file transfer.
In October 2018, they requested more documents to be submitted. I resubmitted requested documents by end of November 2018.
Then on December 14, 2018 I received the Pre-arrival Service email
And on December 21, 2018 the requested 1 more document as they needed for background check.
Ever since, no updates
And on GCKey a lot of information is not updated.

Anyone with similar case?

There is no minimum income requirement to sponsor. You must be able to demonstrate you can support your family and cannot be collecting welfare.

Hello Experts, I need help against sponsorship of my 2nd wife. After my permanent residency , I got married back home again with 2nd wife & I have also never sponsored my first wife who is still back home. I have declared my first marriage at the time of my permanent resident application and now I am planning to sponsor my 2nd wife as according to Canadian Law, I can only sponsor one wife. I am seeking your professional help and guidance in regards with this matter.

Are you still married to your first wife?

If you are, you cannot sponsor your second wife as it is not a valid marriage according to Canadian law.
