I give you an advice , friends: Avoid at all costs the benelux consulates (netherlands, belgium, luxembourg), the treatment is absolutely horrible: I tested the consulate of belgium : it took them 2 months. .. to refuse. (In spite of all the documents filing: permanent resident card, pay slip, etc., etc.).

In addition of an schengen visa application , try to take tickets to Frankfurt , it's the best insurance you can get. (and planify a trip plan b course in Germany ... too bad for others, they will not have your money).

Take your travel document about a week before the start of your trip if there is still no response from the consulate .

Germany is a huge and beautiful country with many things to visit ... Wait to pledge allegiance to her majesty the queen before traveling elsewhere ... With dignity .

Applied at the Polish Embassy. Fingers Crossed.
Germany is one of the countries I am visiting on this trip, but flights there were crazy expensive from Toronto.

Italian consulate website says RTD holders do not require visa to Italy, anyone tried travelling there?
This information is totally false, I already checked the information, here are the facts:

The Toronto consulate states on its website that there is no visa requirement for holders of the blue travel document (1951 Convention). But this information is wrong.

- The Consulate of Italy in Montreal says the opposite on its website, and on the phone.
- The Embassy in Ottawa also says the opposite.
- The official tools iata, but also skyteam confirm the need for a visa for the regulator of the document of voyage for Canadian refugee. The flight attendants will not let you board anyway.

* I tried to contact the Toronto consulate to invite them to fix the problem on their site, but they are unreachable, and their email address is defective.

Any new update on PR ???
!!!! Warning !!!! : I give this list for informational purposes ONLY ... Some of these territories or countries still apply for a visa for permanent Canadian resident card holders when they do not have a normal passport (refugee travel document) . It is therefore always necessary to contact the embassy, the consulate, or the high commission before the trip to be sure.

Outside Canada[edit]
For visa-free travels, Canadian permanent residents require a PR card, unless the person's passport in itself is sufficient for exemption. A Canadian PR card holder may travel visa-free to the following countries if not already exempt:

For non-visa-exempt nationals, UK allows holders of a valid PR card issued after 2002 to transit without visa under TWOV program.[21]

Hi good people here, thanks for all your wonderful posts here. Please am planning to goto Canada and seel for asylum. I have two passport, my country passport and other country passport. I have 5 years eTA on my second passport to enter Canada. I was told to destroy the passport that has 5 years eTA in the plane before landing. The reas was that they might be asking me too much question at POE and want me to speak the country lanugaue, though the Official language is English and their other language, but I dont know their other language. That is the reason the person told me to destroy the passport in the plane before landing and once I land I raise up my hand to signify am seeking asylum. Please I need help regards this on how to go about it. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks
