I got an RCMP check request yesterday. I complete 6 months in 5 days. Thank you Montreal (or whichever office my file has been transferred to)

That’s a good sign that someone has actually picked up your file

This is correct!! I think it is always best to give them documents what they ask for and keep your file simple. Sometimes giving them way too much information complicates the process. You just bring unwanted attention to your case.

I learnt it the hard way when I complicated my ECA by giving unnecessary information and sending them IQAS ECA, it just confused the case analyst. In the end they asked for WES ADR for clarification and moved on.

So initially just provide them what they ask for and if they need additional information they will ask for it.

You’re right but I have a strong feeling that your file only got attention once you raised the CSE for ECA. So in a way it worked for you :)

The problem with crossing 6 month mark is you go into a blackhole..
CIC has an obligation to clear 80% of files within 6 months...the rest of 20% after 6 months have no service level obligation....So CIC can clear the 20% over 6 month mark within a week, a month or 10 months no one can really question them....

Is this true? I don't know if I've missed it but I don't recall reading that they have an obligation to clear 80% within 6 months and the 20% is just open ended. For me, the 6 months is just been a historical reference on the average turnaround time of applications. That is also why I wonder if we should even get tense as we approach the 6 month mark. I'd be lying if I'd say I'm chill about the wait ('cause I also want to know if I'm accepted or denied) but MAYBE we should not read to much into it? I know, easy to say, hard to do.

Analyst has not mentioned what was his exact issue with your documentation. What did you submit ?
I have a gift deed along with a small FD. My father is a businessman, hence my account had some amounts deposited, so, my LOE has explanation for these amounts deposited along with necessary documentation. LOE also includes gift deed papers. I guess my LOE has a lot of information which at that time I thought was needed to be given but now I think that extra info is the reason POF has been tagged as RR

The catch is my father is a businessman, so I had some deposits in my account, also, I had moved to Mumbai during that time, so my brother deposited some amount for my expenses. I have given all these explanations along with the gift deed papers. I am sure Case Analyst would have gone confused reading so much

U said that FD is 5 years old. So there was no need for gift deed. U made is complex.but still don't worry. Lot of PPL got ppr with FDS.but maturity date should be like 6 months ideally.

Why does it matter that the maturity date is 6 months? FD can be broken and withdrawn anytime i guess

'cause 80% who already received PPR have no reason to keep writing here everyday. If you take a look at July or August topics, you will see about 100% of people who haven't received PPR yet :)
We haven’t crossed the timeline as yet so there is no reason I should think that am in those 20%.. I try to be positive in this tough time and lead my life rather than getting negative,as I know sooner or later am going to receive the mail.:)

They just made another draw.. PPR emails come to us!!:):)
