HI
I thought we dont have to give biometric if they receive our application before Dec 31 2018. For Asian
Yeah, if the changes went into effect for your country Dec 31 but they received it before then, you're exempt.

Hi All!

My husband and I sent out our application yesterday (Nov 12) from Toronto through Purolator to go to NS and it's already in NB! I think it would be there by now if it wasn't for some "Mechanical delay - late plane"? Anyway I'm not going to complain, we've been working on this application for a really long time and I can wait another day or so to get there lol I'm just glad it's finally out of my house!

My husband is from England and I'm the Canadian. Let's see how it goes! :)

Good luck everyone!
Hello, I am in Canada and will like to sponsor my spouse in the UK. Aside the application forms, what proof will I have to show (employment and fund wise) that I can take care of him?

Please I await your reply. Thank you.

Everything you can.
I am self-employed with my own business, so I felt the onus was even greater to prove I make a living under my own direction.

I submitted things like:

-Cover letter stating all my means of income with references (I have agents who employ me so I listed their contact info. etc)
-Tax returns showing net income for the last 5 years
-My union card showing I am a part of a Union (I am an ACTRA member)
-Any employment references from clients stating you work for them (I work on a contractual basis)
-Bank statements from multiple accounts at different banks with date, time stamps on them
- Savings accumulations, like stocks and bonds, with (date/time stamps) + actual bank printouts
-I showed my rental agreement (condo) with monthly cost proving I have supported myself for X # of years at this address.
-I have a bank account in the PA's country so I offered that account information too.

I have been approved as the Sponsor.

If OP ( @amry ) is from a country that did not have to give BIOMETRICS and submitted before the change took effect in December 2018 then they are still exempt from giving biometrics and will not be asked.

NO Biometrics yet.
But eventually I will get my PR right???
TBH (to be honest,) it isn't a guaranteed process at all. As others stated, never assume until it has all been processed and approved.

No one knows. It can take months or weeks. It depends. This might not be the answer you want to hear. Some people get PPR in 100ish days, other people, like me, submitted an application November and are still awaiting transfer to their local VO. o_O It could be months, it could be weeks. We do not know. Just forget about it as much as you can, is the best advice. ;)

I am from Asia, Asia Pacific or the Americas and have applied for a visa, work or study permit, or for permanent residence before December 31, 2018, but my application is still being processed. Do I have to give my biometrics?
If you’re from a country in Asia, Asia Pacific or the Americas and we received your application before December 31, 2018, you don’t need to give your biometrics, even if your application is still being processed.
