Hello, I am in Canada and will like to sponsor my spouse in the UK. Aside the application forms, what proof will I have to show (employment and fund wise) that I can take care of him?Hi All!
My husband and I sent out our application yesterday (Nov 12) from Toronto through Purolator to go to NS and it's already in NB! I think it would be there by now if it wasn't for some "Mechanical delay - late plane"? Anyway I'm not going to complain, we've been working on this application for a really long time and I can wait another day or so to get there lol I'm just glad it's finally out of my house!
My husband is from England and I'm the Canadian. Let's see how it goes!
Good luck everyone!
Everything you can.Hello, I am in Canada and will like to sponsor my spouse in the UK. Aside the application forms, what proof will I have to show (employment and fund wise) that I can take care of him?
Please I await your reply. Thank you.
If OP ( @amry ) is from a country that did not have to give BIOMETRICS and submitted before the change took effect in December 2018 then they are still exempt from giving biometrics and will not be asked.I received my biometrics even when I applied in Sept Last year dear. I see loads of other applicants too received theirs. Yours must be on its way too ..It mandatory now except exemptions on CIC website
TBH (to be honest,) it isn't a guaranteed process at all. As others stated, never assume until it has all been processed and approved.NO Biometrics yet.
But eventually I will get my PR right???
No one knows. It can take months or weeks. It depends. This might not be the answer you want to hear. Some people get PPR in 100ish days, other people, like me, submitted an application November and are still awaiting transfer to their local VO. It could be months, it could be weeks. We do not know. Just forget about it as much as you can, is the best advice.Somebody has some idea that how much time it can take for processing ur file in mississauga as they haven’t forwarded my file to new delhi VO.
When was your file transfered to Mississaga office , Have you had any communication from them since ? I have had request for addtional documents thrice now.Somebody has some idea that how much time it can take for processing ur file in mississauga as they haven’t forwarded my file to new delhi VO.
I am from Asia, Asia Pacific or the Americas and have applied for a visa, work or study permit, or for permanent residence before December 31, 2018, but my application is still being processed. Do I have to give my biometrics?I received my biometrics even when I applied in Sept Last year dear. I see loads of other applicants too received theirs. Yours must be on its way too ..It mandatory now except exemptions on CIC website
- Canadian citizens, citizenship applicants (including passport applicants), or existing permanent residents

- applicants over the age of 79 (there is no upper age exemption for asylum claimants)
- heads of state and heads of government
- applicants who qualify for or hold a diplomatic or official visa
- U.S. visa holders transiting through Canada
- refugee claimants or protected persons who have already provided biometrics and are applying for a study or work permit
- temporary resident applicants who have already provided biometrics in support of a permanent resident application that is still in progress
