Soft Landing + SIN

I live in the US and I am planning to do a "soft landing" at the Peace Bridge over the weekend ? I'll be back in the US in 2 days.

Do I need to apply for SIN cards (for me and my family) right away or Can I apply for the next time I visit Canada or permanently move there ?

SIN # are issued by a Service Canada office, they are closed on the weekends. You can apply for them later
