No response of my study permit from march 27th! i want to die

Hello! I am really angry and disappointed for the canadian services. My husband and i are from Venezuela and both of us applied for a study permit.

We gave EVERYTHING. but after requesting our biometrics (we gave them) it stoped, we are not even in reviewing of eligibility.

I am angry and crying because we bought our tickets for the next saturday and i don't see any signals of progress.. our course start the next month ... we are trying to run away from our country in the most possible legal way and this happens...

And we can't even reach canada to ask for asylum because as i read the airline won't give us permission because we have nothing...

help... i tried to contact them and nothing...

when we started this process it said 2 weeks, the last week they uploaded it to 4...

The processing times posted on the website are just estimates. It can often take much longer for the application to be processed and you should not have purchased tickets until your visas were approved. The fact both of you applied together likely has made IRCC concerned you aren’t genuine students but are trying to use the study permit to come to Canada long term (which is in fact what you are trying to do). I think the chances of refusal are likely quite high since IRCC will guess your true intentions.

You booked tickets without even getting approval of your study permits knowing that Canada frequently denies study permits. With the current high number of asylum seekers from Venezuela you had to anticipate that a study permit was far from guaranteed so I don’t know why you would book plane tickets in advance.

IRCC clearly states not to buy tickets before receiving approval, so that is entirely on you.

At this point, there is nothing you can do but wait.
