@tobs or any experts
If someone has experience this before I really need some input
Last night I looged on to CIC just to look at my profile
The first thing I noticed was that when I signed in there was something weird about my name in the applicant name section:
Usually it is printed on 2 lines but last night it was just 1 line. My current status was still submitted.

When I went into the application this is what I saw

Application status and messages
Check the status, review the details and read messages for your application.

Application status is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

My file said submitted so I'm not sure if this is a ghost update.
Please advise.
I think someone else mentioned that the same thing happened. Is it still showing the same?

Hello @tobs @canasha and all other members in the forum,
I called cic few minutes back and am shocked to know from the agent that they have not touched my profile after 3rd August wherein my ITR is 10July ....this is really shocking for me as in the last mail they told me that I will get a revert by march 27..Getting really frustrated now
If anyone knows what is the longest ever wait period? Its been almost 9 months in my case :(
Sorry Tania, Let's hope that they start working on your file soon.

Great @tobs ! Wish you a safe & happy landing. Please keep in touch. Can I ask that you jot down your experiences pre and post landing ( pre-arrival plans, arrival and post arrival plans etc.)? I believe this would be very helpful for me and others coming from Nigeria. If you want to blog or vlog...no problem! I will definitely subscribe to your channel Your inputs have been very valuable to me and others on this forum. Thanks for all you do. Much appreciated! Cheers
Thanks D,
I actually have a YT channel. I'll definitely make videos pre & post PR and I'll share that with you all.
Thanks for your wishes. (hugs)

Few questions about the BOWP if anyone can answer them:
1) My application has now been updated to say the BOWP has been approved. There's no document or anything, it just says
- Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) | Your document is valid. | 2020/10/11 2019/03/27
- Work Permit | Your document is valid. | 2020/03/27 2019/03/27
How does this work if I'm travelling? My working visa says expired since Jan 30, 2019 so if I leave and come back what's to say they wont deny my entrance since my visa document isn't up to date?
2) I'm assuming, based on the above, that I don't need to purchase another ETA? The one I had with my original working holiday visa is just extended now?
3) Has anybody had any issues travelling in and out of the country on a BOWP?

we are in the similar situation. I received my notes few weeks ago and found out that its missing "job duty" for one of my work experiences. that is why I am still REVIEW REQUIRED. hope that gives you an idea why your case is still being review.
You sent in additional documents, right ??

There are two different things: 1- work permit: this is for staying and working in Canada. It has nothing to do with entry,
2- visa: this is for entering Canada for short time, it doesn't allow you to stay or work. However, people from visa-exempt countries don't need visa. Instead, they only need an eTA to enter Canada

For your BOWP, what you see in your account is the counterfoil of the document that are going to be mailed to you via post. You have to wait for a couple of days. They will send the doc to your address. You can use BOWP to work in Canada. Also your previous work permit that expired on Jan. 30th does not matter anymore, since you have the new BOWP which is valid for one year.

From your description, it seems you are from a visa-exempt country. So, you need to have an eTA to be able to travel back to Canada. (I don't think you need if you are traveling by land). From the counterfoil that you mentioned, it seems that they also issued you a new eTA as well. Wait for the mail to receive it. But, if you don't receive it you have to apply for a new one to be able to come back to Canada.

Lastly, when you come back to Canada, the officer checks your eTA and passport to let you in, however, if you have the intention to live and work in Canada, you need to show your BOWP as well.
