just got email that they received my biometric payment receipt and which is forwarded to the concerned officer. Hope the officer send the biometric request soon

AT this point not sure. we are just getting the request.
It would be interesting to see how long it takes for them to request it.
My file was already transferred to the local VO so it might be awhile before I hear from CIC

Same here. I paid the biometric fee after our application was sent. Paid it March 4th. Got a confirmation email that they received it and were passing it off to proper immigration officer for processing, and haven't heard since.
My account does say at the moment "We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes."
We were hoping they would send us the okay for me to do it before I head back up to Canada for a couple of week visit. Sigh.
This waiting game is intense!
