I had received ITA around December, I collected and submitted my documents in February. I got a message that my application was canceled because I did not provide translation for my kids birth certificate. I provided all the documents, and overlooked this.

I had read a lot about, when there is a missing document, they contact you. Is that normal? I could just submit a translation in a day or two if I was asked.

They do not contact you if something is missing with the application. It is on you to make sure everything is correct when submitting. You can proactively order notes to see if everything is going well with the application and respond, but usually they won't ask for different documents and just straight out reject those applications. Sorry this happened to you.

When you submit an application, it first goes through a completeness check. Translation is mandatory for any document that is not in English or French. This is also one of the most common reason for cancellation after incomplete PCC.

Really sorry to hear this. I have similar timelines - though I started looking at applying in August last year and only got to a decent CRS (over 440) in November after doing TEF to gain some points. I hope you have a decent enough CRS to reapply - even with the setback the process is still much more transparent and timely than most other countries I am aware of.

One question did the rejection come after ~40 days? That's the usual time these days to clear medicals and get biometric requests.

well after about 50 days, yesterday they asked biometric, and I was preparing to get that, now I have to apply again. the worst part is I have to fill all the long questions again, is not there a quick way to submit my old profile again?

You have to start again. Yeah when they checked for completeness of the whole application they saw there was no translation. It usually happens about a month after sending everything in.

Do I need to cancel my biometrics appointment? Or should I go and give
I would imagine you will be given a refund for everything by default - so possibly going for biometrics might just add a bit of confusion. Since there's no hurry (as you need to apply, get invited, etc) , why not cancel now and do everything as per the normal sequence the next time round.

yeah make sense but I had already bought a plane ticket to go to biometrics office, anyway, I think I will have to cancel both.
