Hi guys,
I applied for extension of visitor visa in Sep 2018 and it was approved. The visitor record is valid until April 26, 2019. Now I will be applying for extension of visitor visa again. While uploading documents for extension of visitor visa this time, I see that they want medical report upfront. Can I use my old medical report and provide a cover letter? Or do another medical test and submit report to them....

P.S my medicals for extension of visitor visa was done in Jan 2019 when i had extended visitor visa first time. And my understanding is that medical reports are valid for 12 months.

Just a little background. My inland PR application was returned due to missing documents - (PCC was missing) and it will take some time to get PCC. So just wanted to be sure that i have a legal status in Canada before i re-submit my PR application, that's why extending my visitor visa again.

Let me know your thoughts. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you can give your old medical record and provide cover letter.
For spousal sponsorship, as far as I know, you don't need to be in status.
You need the status only for OWP.

I was able to link OWP today but it said the date it was submitted was the 24th which is tomorrow, not today and also said the received date is the 23rd 2019, which is not possible since we sent documents on the 28th. Can I ignore this or is there a possibility that they confused somebody else's OWP with mine? I'm happy that I could link the app but also very confused and worried. But the UCI number and name on CIC is mine. Has anybody had the same situation with me?

No worries, OWP usually has received date 1 week before the real date they received it.
I dunno the reason.
However I also have the same case like yours, mine was 7 days before the real received date.

Would you plz tell where can I link my OWP ?

It's the same as linking to PR app, but you need to select temporary residence - work permit when linking the OWP

I used all 5 tries every day to link the PR application and it took a week to work! I used Application Number, Family Name, and Passport Info when it worked. From that application I could see the PA’s UCI number (I am the sponsor and AOR email only gives sponsor’s UCI). To link OWP I used PA’s UCI and Family Name.

Hoping to get OWP approval soon as I see many have!

Yeah, im just trying to avoid having to extend my status online ($100! noooo) because my work permit runs out 1st April! 11 days to get OWP haha fingers crossed!

Hey, I'm in the same boat.. my TRV expires on 22nd April. I have just got my medical request 5 days ago. fingers crossed we save on the $100.. Haha..

You are most welcome. Regarding OWP timeline, it seems to be the trend for January applicants, but every case is different and processing times vary depending on agent who is dealing with your application. I got my AOR on March 13 and OWP got approved on March 20. They might also wait for you to do the medical before approving your application since you have been in the country for more than six month (they require medical for all applications for anyone who has been in Canada for more than 6 month). Hopefully your OWP will come shortly.
I would wait for couple more days before trying to link applications in GCkey, it seems the system is catching up a little late. When you try to link the PR, use the number sent in AOR that starts with F as an application number and make sure you put 2 for number of family members (should be the very last question). Also use the PA's UCI number not the sponsor's.

I have received my AOR on 7th Mar and medical request on 15th mar. I have been able to linked by PR on the GCKEY But not the OWP. while logging on the eras with PA UCI I can only see the PR application and not the OWP. is it normal?? will I be receiving the OWP post my medical results submission. I'm worried since my TRV expires on 22nd April and still I haven't applied for extension.

Hello! Were you able to find way to check status of your OWP? I was able to link my PR application. But cant see any options to track my OWP progress.

I got AOR on 7th march and OWP approval on 15th march. However, I have not received medical request. Is there a stipulated timeline to get the medical request?

Does anyone know if there is a difference in OWP processing time if PA has been in Canada for more than 6 months? I read that if you've been in Canada for less than 6 months medical can be done after OWP approval which shortens the time of getting OWP. Any insights?

That's such a huge relief. I really have no idea why they are giving the date a week ahead from the date we submit. Thanks anyway! Now I can relax haha

wow...that's expensive!!! but i am pretty sure your application will go fast as all your steps are going very smoothly!
I still don't have my medical request yet....

I think thats a normal price. Also paid same amount or maybe nearly. 150$ doctors fee and 160$ for lab tests u mentioned. Well maybe yours a bit higher.
