Hi Guys,

I have a question with respect to my son's sponsorship application. Our timelines are the following:

Applied : 12/04/2018
AOR : 01/31/2019
Add Info : NA
Medical Req: 02/19/2019
Sponsor Approval: 02/13/2019
Application transferred to CPC : New Delhi 02/27/2019
Medical done: 03/07/2019 ( planned in Toronto)

Is there any impact with the file being transferred to India while my son along with my wife and me stay in Toronto? The medical will be done in Toronto but will they transfer it back to be processed in Canada itself? Do I need to raise a case query to them to ask them to transfer it back to Canada? Any help here would be appreciated.

It doesn’t matter that the file is being processed in India. IRCC determines where each file will be processed and you cannot request the transfer.
My son was in Canada during the whole sponsorship process and his file was processed in Vienna. Once everything was done, he landed in an IRCC office in Canada.

Ok that is perfect then. Will just submit his medicals and wait for the decision to come through. Thanks a lot guys.

I would like to seek clarification on the below points.
1. Need to know if we can apply for TRV for our son online against the same GC Key used for his PR application which is in progress. His file is currently at NDVO.
2. In case TRV is approved where will we have to submit the passport for stamping.

You can (and probably should) use the same GCKey for TRV.
Passport stamping depends on your current place of residence. You will be asked to send it to the visa office responsible for your place of residence.

Hello All,

Does anyone know how much time does it take for IRCC to send out Sponsorship Approval after application is submitted?

My 13 months old daughter's inland application reached IRCC on Feb 4th 2019 and her visitor insurance coverage expires on 2nd April 2019. I am planning to extend her coverage until we receive Sponsorship Approval ( + 3 months). Once I get SA, I will apply for her OHIP card and it will take another 3 months for her OHIP coverage to start. Let me know if I am missing something in my calculation.

About OHIP.. i'm in the same situation with my son. But I understood that you don't need to wait another 3 months for it after you apply, you just need to prove that the kid was in Canada already for 3 months. In my case, I just need to bring from school a letter that he went there for 3 months already so he will receive the OHIP right after we apply. :)

Thanks. This is good information. Unfortunately, it will difficult for me to prove my 1 year old daughter's 3 months stay. She is US citizen and her passport was not stamped when she entered Canada by road. Her name is not on any Utility or Rental bill. Only document I have is her visitor insurance coverage starting from day she entered Canada and her vaccination record dated approximately 2 months after her entry in Canada.

Hi All,
I had sent my application to sponsor my child for PR and it was received at Sydney,NS on Jan 23 2019
My son is 7 months old
Is medical necessary for him?
If yes, will medical be done in Canada without health insurance
