Congratulations!Finally good news.....Got my PPR email a few hours back.....
If you have called before and you were told that Eligibility has been passed....and Criminality Initiated then PPR is around the corner but then again this is Montreal so anything is possible
Yup that means your PR is just around the corner, just like mine's been around the corner since 23rd October when it changed to the same state.
That, in fact, means you passed eligibility and the next step would be the background check, which is painfully slow to start for Montreal's VO but very quick (a matter of days or hours even) for other VOs. You won't see an update once BG actually starts. You'll probably see a ghost update when its done.

Hopefully it's not that. One point in his favor is that he's an Outland candidate. It's common for inland candidates to see background in progress sooner than Outlanders. Also, I believe most outlanders whose applications get processed in Montreal don't ever see that status. I'm guessing maybe his application got transferred to another VO.
In either case, it's good news that there's some action for you @sharvkp Please let us know what's your VO if you get a PPR or once you receive your GCMS notes.

Good to see some PPRs trickling in from Montreal early in the week. Hopefully, it will continue throughout the week.
Also, I'm saying this late but great to see that this thread has crossed 250+ pages. Good to see people finding support in this excruciating wait with Montreal.

I have had the same status but when I call, I am usually told my Eligibility is being reviewed and criminality has passed.

I'm new to this group and would like to say that reading the experiences has been very helpful as we are in the same Montreal boat.
We got to know last month through a GCMS raised that our application is also at the Montreal Visa Office.
We had an AOR date of September 20th 2018 and Medicals Passed on October 23rd 2018. No other process is started.
GCMS shows that no update on the application was made after it was transferred to Montreal Visa office in November 2018.
My 6 months will be over soon. Any suggestions on what our next steps should be are most welcome.
@Adeife23 I would also like to request adding me to the Whatsapp group for more insights.
