Hi how long your husband has been out of status? I was curious because I know someone that overstayed for a long time and has previous visitor refusal and has no CBSA visit and their Inland app has been approved.

It's been about 2 or 3 years now. Some people do get through with no problems. It all depends if u get caught up with CBSA or not

Thanks for your reply. So no matter how long it doesn’t really matter. I just hope for the best on your application.

My wife overstayed for 2 years before we applied for PR, she landed last July, app was all completed in 11 months. We never got tangled up with the CBSA, one of the lucky ones and such a relief we are living a normal and stress free life now!

I have read here people have been approved for PR with 5+ years overstay even with CBSA involvement so it can still end good eventually.

It’s never an ideal situation of course and seems a bit of a roulette wheel as to if CBSA will become involved and how long the sponsorship takes as some people report much longer waiting times.

And you can find some overstay cases not ending good but from what I read here as long as you’re a genuine couple and compile a solid app backing it up it will most likely end positively.

Thanks for sharing your own experience it really all depends on the Immigration officer who will assess and review the application if they will approve or refuse and how faster it’s gonna be.

I’m just hoping that those applicant whose dealing with CBSA would overcome this hardship I can’t imagine dealing with CBSA and at the same time stress about thinking your application is really a difficult situation so I’m just hoping and praying that light will shine soon on them and get their pr very soon.
