Under activities and admissibility if u see redacted info with either s15 or s16 written on those pages at the top rite corner and your eligibility has been passed since last 2-3 months then u r in SS most likely
Can you see 'security screening' mentioned anywhere on your GCMS notes?
Just checked my GCMS notes received on 23rd Jan
Under admissibility, the section of security is blank with S15(1) mentioned on the top right corner
Then one page has a general note saying 'Page 71 is withheld pursuant to section 15(1) of the access to information act'
Security for my wife is also blank. She is a British citizen, born and raised in England. I don't think they need SS for her
Our security is going on since Nov'18 [started together]
I can not find the word 'security screening' anywhere
I went through the below link from canadavisa.com where a guy was in security screening and could see the word 'security screening' mentioned on his notes under S15.

Now I wen't through this link to get some info:

Where it says for S15(1) :
Information under this section is hidden when IRCC or a Canadian agency has requested information from a foreign government or agency. It could be anything from checking your record in a foreign country to verifying the information you have supplied in your application. Canadian Security Intelligence Service or IRCC may also request information on your criminality or association with any organization, if they suspect any. This could also be seen when an applicant may have worked for a foreign government. Most of the applicants who see this on the GCMS notes, need not worry, as this is a routine check and does not impact the application. It is not harmful, unless IRCC finds something seriously wrong or something is discovered which would make the applicant inadmissible.
Btw, when I called up CIC last month, the agent told me that there are no red flags and my security is on going. She also did not mention security screening anywhere.
I am assuming that my security is taking time because I have been to 8 countries in last 10 years, including US once and UK twice. My US and UK visas are still valid. As per the above point on getgcms.com, I believe IRCC has requested our info from the countries we have traveled to which is obviously a routine check, to see in case someone got involved in something suspicious.
Anyone with a similar situation here? The S15 and S16 thing?
