Hello Everyone! if anyone could guide me, i have applied PRs of my family. i was in legacy claimants. my time line is:
they received my application on June 20, 2018,
Process started Oct 23,2018
when i heard their IVR its like that; we received your application on June 20, 2018, process started on Oct 23, 2018, we do not need additional documents, we do not need your finger prints, you do not need medical exam, you do not need interview, we are checking your eligibility, once the final decision has been made we will contact you. your review of background check has not started yet…

Is it OK they just need background check?? if yes so long will it take to review background check??
Now website is showing 22 months processing time is this only for inside canada or outside canada as well??

This is very normal
First it’s gonna take from 16 to 22 months to finalize you Pr
If you have any dependent outside Canada once you become Pr add 3-4 months for your family to become a Pr
Being a legacy doesn’t mean anything
All has to go through the process
About background check it’s very okay plus they might need a medical test and a police certificates
Don’t hurry everything they need they will inform you

Thanks for your prompt response... how about the IVR conversation... it’s a generic for all or case specific and really they just need background check only nor medical exam neither interview and fingerprints....

The system shows that they don’t need all of that is just ‘currently’, but eventually, they will be asking you for medicals, police clearance, and maybe fingerprints.. you just have to wait for it.

I was a legacy too, but still, I submitted everything to become a PR of Canada. Patience my friend :)
