I got admit for fall intake.
A) What is the pgwp duration after meng in uottawa?
B) If i take summer break, then will i continue as a full time student?
C) Is summer term a common break for international students?
D) If I complete 2 year masters in 1 year then what would be my pgwp duration.

E) What would be my pgwp length if i do masters in the following sequence

Fall term( studying)
Winter term(studying)
-------------------------------------
Summer term(break)
-------------------------------------
Fall term(studying)
Winter term(studying)

A) depends on the length of the program. If the program is less than 2 years then the PGWP will be the duration of time spent studying in Canada. If the course is 2 years and more then a 3-year PGWP is issued.

B) If summer break is a regularly scheduled break by your university then yes you can. You cannot take a semester break on your own, you have to study continuously not including scheduled holidays.

C) Most universities have a summer break, there are generally no classes during summer. You can check it up with your concerned University, it will be mentioned in their calendar.

D) Generally, when you complete a program earlier than the scheduled time of the program completion you will get a PGWP based on the duration in the offer letter, not the actual time you took to complete it. You will have to check this with your University for further details and clarification as usually, this is not the case. You should not be penalized for finishing early in most cases. I doubt you can cram 2 years of masters into 1 year though.

E) Since it is 4 semesters you will be valid for a 3-year PGWP.

A guy graduated from Western Uni with a similar course structure (30 units, 10 courses) in Meng Civil told me that a lot of people he knew completed their degree in 1 year (3 seems). And every one got a 3 year pgwp.

No need to worry. You can't leave UOttawa cuz of this, it's an awesome Uni and once you get there you'll get to know for sure. Or try contacting their international office or any alumni. Even if there are any changes, then changing to that 2 year(6 sem) thesis based degree is also quite easy if you have good grades and repo with a proof.

And if you take unscheduled semester breaks then your status would change to part time and you won't be able to get pgwp at all.

You can also ask the Uni for minimum credits required for a full time status in a semester. That is I think 3 or 6 units in a graduate degree. So based on that, if you want, your degree can be 5 or even 6 sems and also be eligible for the ''Full Time status for the duration of 2 years" As I said, many people have graduated in the past and faced the same problem you are facing. Canadian education system is flexible enough to change our degrees to our requirements. Just choose the most awesome Uni based on your course and focus on studies, the rest will follow.

Thanku for your help.
I know uottawa is one of the top universities in canada.
But the problem is that, for each term the tution fee is around 11k CAD.
So for 6 terms it will be around 66k CAD and it is a huge amount.
The only thing I can do is completing the course in 4 terms(Hope that 4 term is 16 months).
But again the issue is pgwp duration after this.
So if u know, please tell me about pgwp after completing my course in 16 months

3 years pgwp for 4 terms or even if you finish in 3 terms. And according to one of my friends in Concordia who transitioned from Meng to MSc after one year, he was able to recover the first year fee as well coz mostly you are funded in the thesis program.

Lol, I got no chance with my 7.4 gpa.. I have to be content with my MUN admit
How a 3 term( 1 year) course secure 3 year pgwp
Because it's total 30 units. You'll be crazy overworked with 3 or more courses in a term. I mailed Ryerson Uni quite some time back regarding this. They grant full time status to graduate students pursuing 2 courses in a term. And as you might know most Unis in ontario- Ottawa, Windsor, Ryerson, Western follow the same format, ie 30 units 10 courses and 16 months and most students get 3 years WP

I think memorial was a wise decision from you.
Decent university in terms of ranking and affordable cost.
In terms of cost uottawa is a bit expensive

affordable cost.
Yes, that is quite amazing. I'll be able to study in peace without worrying much about a job. Though I have got into a MASC program, which is costly, around 26k for 2 years. But I believe I'll be able to change into a research one once I get there.
Uottawa and Uwindsor.
UOttawa for sure. Along with your studies, Uni tag is also very helpful in getting a job afterwards. The opportunities you'll get in job fairs and all will be quite invaluable as compared to the fee you'll pay for UOttawa. U Windsor is okay for Automobile people, but UofO is far superior in everything else
