Immediate re-apply on TRV refusal

My girlfriend/fiance had applied for a temp visitor visa from India on Dec 24th. She plans to visit me for 16 days in February. Today, her visa application was refused and the reasons given were as below:

1. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.

2. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

These were the documents we provided before:

1. Letter of invitation by me, summarizing our relationship, as well as intended plans for the trip and showing my legal and financial status.
2. Bank statement showing CAD $3000 in her bank account.
3. Payslips and appointment letter from her job.
4. Tax forms.
5. Purpose of travel showing intended travel plans as well as CONFIRMED return-trip flight tickets.

After receiving the refusal, we re-applied immediately. Following are the changes/additions we did.

1. Included the fact in our letters that we intend to marry each other and requested for approval so we can see each other.
2. Updated bank statement showing around CAD $3900.
3. Included a certificate from her work-place, showing that she is a bonafide employee.
4. Included the fact that she has to return back to work after her vacation because absconding as such amounts to legal action.
5. Screenshots from the HR system of her work-place, showing that she applied for the leaves for the duration of the trip.
6. Approval email for the leaves applied from the supervisor at her work.
7. Included the fact that she stays with her family currently, and they depend on her for financial assistance, up to some extent (not fully though).
8. Included the fact that both of us have genuine and fair intentions as well as full financial capability to make this "temporary visit".

Can someone please let us know what are our chances now?

It will be tough now, given you have explained your relationship and plans. IRCC will see her as a significant risk to overstay once she is in Canada. That, along with modest savings, and no significant ties to her home, I wouldn’t be holding out too much hope (sorry).

She would be super lucky if her second application is approved. However, I don't think it is going to happen. Sorry.


Her application checks all the boxes for a potential overstayer:
1. You declared your relationship in the invitation letter.... it's such a huge red flag that no visa officer will miss seeing it.

2. Her finances are pretty low + no financial investments = Her job does not pay well = Her employment is not a tie to return home to.

3. Unless she signed a Non Disclosure/Non Compete Agreement and/or holds a critical position in her employment (not the case), the question of legal action being taken for unauthorized absence from work does not arise. Such agreements are difficult to enforce in reality.

4. Confirmed tickets prove nothing and don't assure a visa

5. In short, she has more reasons to remain in Canada and zero reasons to return to India

Good day. I recently applied a visitor visa last December 29,2018 but was refused. I am the primary applicant together with my common law partner and our son who is 20months old. Our plan is to attend a wedding of my common law partner cousin and to visit her aunt and relatives who are Canadian Citizen..

Below are the grounds of refusal;
1. I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179b of the IRPR, based on your travel history.
2. Based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
3. Based on the purpose of your visit.
4. Based on your personal assets and financial status.

Documents submitted online:
1. Business registration and permit
2. Departures and arrival stamps from Hongkong, Macau, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Cambodia.
3. Invitation letter from common law's Aunt
4. Bank Statements, bank certificates, Stock certification with total amount of 80,000CAD


It was my first attempt to apply a visitor visa. My siblings and my mother stays in the philippines. I have a business to run to and its doing well. I have no plan of overstaying in Canada given a chance to reapply.

I wanted to reapply soon and it is allowed because I was informed that you have to wait 6months to reapply again.

Also, what other documents should I present for them to give us a visitor visa?
