I have a quick question. Is eligibility, criminality and security checks started at once? I called IRCC last year ...first week in November and my eligibility was in process. I called again on the 28th of December and the agent wasn’t clear on the status of the eligibility but said the criminality was in process. I believe the call left me more confused about this process more than ever......
Criminality usually comes first, but it's possible indeed that they start eligibility while it's still in progress. With this new biometrics requirements, it seems they have expanded their range of checks. But it really depends on the visa office, and it's indeed something you can see frequently for applications process at CIO Sydney NS. They start eligibility soon after starting criminality.
But security, I do believe they leave it for last usually, until all previous stages are passed.
Thing is, statuses can be confusing even on their end. Statuses can sometimes change from Passed, to In Progress, to Not Started, as it moves from VO to VO.
I usually encourage others to just sit back and relax, and grab some popcorn while they process your application. If you try and understand too much their inner works, you'll have grey hair by the time you get PPR.

So you are saying that CIC works in mysterious ways just like the God- Hard to predict anything concrete until it actually happens :p

Just called this number ‭1 (888) 242-2100‬. After entering my info, the machine just read out my application status to me. Same information as what’s online.

Did I call the wrong number? There seems no option to talk to an agent.

Wouldn't go as far as that, as there is some form of path being followed (R10-->Medicals-->Criminality-->Eligibility-->Security). And we know more or less what they do in each stage...

But repetitive attempts in knowing exactly at what stage one's application is, often results in frustration, as even the statuses of these very stages can change after seemingly being at "Passed" at some point, just like what happened in your case it seems. The immediate reaction is "There is surely something wrong with my application" --(I don't mean you per se)--, but it's just common to see that when files are being "transferred" to another office.

I emailed NDVO and once they sent mine I requested a location change. And Ottawa sent me a new PPR in 3 days. With Ottawa's PPR you can submit at the nearest VO to you (NY, I think). I believe an inland candidate also did something similar. You have a poibt about September being within timelines. Maybe try it if you don't get the PPR by your 5th month (next month)? It's a possibility because some June applicants with approvals since October are still waiting for Sydney.
I called them today and the agent said that if I don't get a PPR Hy 21st January I should call them back. I don't remember the part about what they will do when I call again but something to the effect of bringing it to attention of whoever is responsible to generate the email. So I guess I will wait 2 weeks more and call and see. If I still don't get anything on my 5th month mark I will email NDVO. @arte I completed 120 days from AoR today and 3 weeks since approval. You can try calling since you haven't done that before. If the agent did know something then maybe September folks will be getting PPR in next 2 weeks hopefully. Although he said he didn't know if I am in que for PPR but that I should hear something in 2 weeks. Hoping for a PPR rain.

GCMS notes and call to an agent (received and made today) confirmed the approval of my application on December 3rd, 2018. I emailed NDVO today. Let's see what happens in about a week.

@Bandit Queen I will let you know what I hear back. Good luck to all of us! I am trying to stay here in the blog instead of staring at my email & cic account! I will call by Friday this week. Btw, did you call +1 613-944-4000 from the USA? I have the list of instructions which @Nishita.Kulkarni posted a while ago.

I love how everyone calls and emails incessantly. There are thousands of people, sometimes I think that all they are doing is answering people's questions. It would be nice if they implemented a system where your application would be pushed by a week everytime you call them before 6 months.

Hello All,

My AOR date was on September 9th and I'm a cec applicant. Till date I only see MED passed, ELIGIBILITY and BG in progress from OCT 4th. No updates after this date.
I submitted ATIP request on Nov 30th but no updates received on this as well. Today I sent a followup email to ATIP-AIPRP@cic.gc.ca

Please advise how to get or know actual status? Whenever I call CIC customer service they only read out the status that is listed in my online application.

what's your AOR? Yes the last few pages has some note from program assistant, and everything seems ok. but that's about it.. nothing from case processing agent.
Sept 19 - AOR
Nov 15 - file transferred to Manila VO
Nov 23 - we received procedural fairness letter
Dec 10 - submitted response to letter and docs
Til now no update.
Our gcms notes was generated on Nov 20. So we didnt see comments before we received the letter. Everything seems ok except for eligibilty review required for stat question visa refusal.
If everything seems ok in your notes then nothing to worry. All we can do is wait.

Yeah. Put a *67 before the number otherwise it will not transfer your call. No need to use any apps etc calls to Canada are anyway free. Just dial *676139444000. Copy paste this and it should connect. I have always been able to connect by calling around 13:30 CST today it was quite busy though. Took me 4-5 attempts from 1:30 but finally entered a que at 2:15. Good luck
