Congrats on the movement. This is some encouraging news!

When you say 'ghost update' does that mean when you logged in, your profile changed to 'updated'?

Yes when I logged into my cic account, I saw “Application/profile updated” and goes back to “submit” thereafter. I didn’t received any email notification regarding the update, only noticed it on my cic account

Just an update.
AOR - September 1
CEC.
I had a ghost update in my profile this morning and decided to call cic.
The agent told me the following:
Eligibility: Recommended pass
Criminality: Pass
Security: (she said I can’t tell you) but you should hear from us before the expiration of the 6 month as everything looks good.

So, obviously there’s been progress for September applications as my eligibility was not started as at December 7. Good luck to all that are waiting for PPR
Please let us know when you receive your ppr

Hey guys, hope you’re staying strong! Just thought I’d share my info just in case there’s something I should know.

FSW-Inland

- Date Applied/AOR : Sept. 14
- Medicals passed: Oct. 10
- that’s it.

I check my account a few times daily and don’t think I’ve ever had a ghost update and I’m certain that I’m still in the IP1 stage.

My study permit was expiring in Nov. so I applied for a PGWP a few days before submitting my PR application and received it in mid Nov. but it did not affect my PR application.

I sent an email on Dec. 20th about the Visa office that’s processing my application and got a reply email on Dec. 24th morning (weirdly) stating that the office is Montreal. I’ve applied for GCMS a few days ago too just in case. Do you think I should call IRCC for updates?

Good luck to everyone! I hope we get more good news by next week.

Congrats! Did you get background changes in your profile as well and when?

Background change at the same time when my Med Pass, which is Oct 18. It says we are reviewing your application and will contact you if we need any more infor, etc.

What's the number to call IRCC and the best time to call ( Canada time)

So you didn't go from IP1 (Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check) to IP2 (We are processing your background check). You were always on IP1 till Jan 3?

You may want to get your passport renewed. You can submit the old and renewed passport for COPR.
It is always better to have a passport that has 1+ years of validity. Recently, Kubeir Kamal commented on this exact same issue. Please check his Facebook group.

Mate ! r u sure ?? Pls share that Fb link

A quick question:

Now applicants from Asia, Asia Pacific and the Americas also need biometrics according to CIC.
I am FSW-O from India, and was wondering ...

A. should I proactively do my biometrics (if it's possible) or
B. should I wait for them to ask me as my application says "We don't need your biometrics. We will message you if this changes"

Applicants after December 31st 2018. It doesn't apply to you if you didn't need to submit biometrics after July 31st, 2018.

To all September AORs who already got PPR.
Could you please advise if any of you have a valid or expired visa for Canada (any type).
I'm trying to evaluate/estimate the impact of having applied for a visa before on a PR application processing times.
I'm not looking to validate this hypothesis based on just a few examples from you, but on the contrary, invalidate it.

In other words, if many of you who got PPR already, but have no previous visa applications at all, then it doesn't work.

Let's see...

To provide my input on that, I've held a Canadian Tourist Visa (actually the electronic VISA), and no PPR. AOR sept 12.
