Hehe...she actually took down my number for a call back! Don’t know if she can actually do that, but she confirmed the ISD extension very conscientiously - and offered to call me back as soon as my security starts. I complained a LOT about how the background check stays at ‘We are processing your background check’ irrespective of whether we are under Criminality or Security - so I won’t even be able to tell when security checks commence! So, she said she’s going to watch out for any movements on my file (she set up an internal alert) and will give me a call back if the security starts. I was super touched, needless to say, and will personally visit her (at Quebec) and thank her if I do get that call back :D
How I wish, I had the 'open your mouth wide and shake your head in shock' emoticon here...:eek:o_O:confused::oops:

correction... I recently came back with my visa.. on airline.. with old visa and COPR .... I had done my landing like June..my wife did later on.. and some issue in photograph blah blah... so that being said... u need to have a valid visa.. I did not have PRTD for my wife...only thing officer said.. "How did airline let u board" I showed him old visa,, he was like ok.. tats all
Not sure if this is how it normally works. I believe all your old visas are cancelled when you land with your COPR, so I've been told. Airlines don't let you board with a cancelled visa either so the visa officer's question was right.
I think anyone travelling out from Canada without a PR card might want to check what the procedure is because you might not be able to get back without the PRTD.

Guys, this is what I did to change my VO from NDVO to Paris:

Emailed NDVO, Paris VO and Ottawa with the Passport request email and asked them to change the Visa office so I can submit the passport. Important: Please include URGENT in your subject.
I got an email saying my EE application has been updated.
I also received a new Passport Request message on my CIC account with the details of the Paris VO with a 30 day timeline from today.
If you have a different VO that you want to email, please look for the same in this link https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/contact-ircc/offices/international-visa-offices.html
The email addresses should be in the link specific to your country.

All the best guys and hope you get your PPR emails at the earliest :)

Was it NDVO that changed it or Paris VO?

Very helpful indeed! Thanks for sharing!
Can we still send mail to NDVO asking for ppr irrespective of being Indian Citizen ?

I am trying to believe it was NDVO that initiated it because they were the responsive ones. Heard Paris doesn't respond to emails so the EE profile update must have been done by them. All speculations :D

I would say so only if you have confirmation that your application has been approved and mostly if you have crossed the 6 month mark. Otherwise people are just receiving the generic message that you are still within timelines. If you are over 6 months, think you should drop an email and check :) all the best!

Hi guys. Not entirely relevant to this thread but I had a question for people who are migrating with their spouses (as secondary applicants). Are you planning to get their ECAs done as well (if not already done). I understand that this is not mandatory for the PR process, but was worried if potential employers do need it mandatorily in Canada. Thanks.

All new PR holders that require Visa are issued one time entry visa only and the same is strike off and cancelled in the system when you do the landing. Now I am just not willing to accept that he was allowed to board by airlines/immigration officials in India and then he was able to land as well in Canada without any issue. People normally get deported back for such issues.

So people pls don't believe all this - I know many of you out here treat this guy with lot of respect but this is nothing but pure misinformation.

Well, thank you for letting us know the actual process but I guess @sid1987's case was possibly an alternative reality. We definitely need to go by the process but Sid did experience something and shared it here...he would get nothing by sharing wrong information... Not like he does it for money. :p
