Hi all,

I had a visitors visa refusal from Canada in November 2017 due to reasons like travel history and family ties.

Now applying in EE, my consultant has submitted my profile but I haven’t received an ITA yet.

However there is a section asking about Immigration and Citizenships, in it was asked if I have applied to IRCC before. My consultant has mentioned ‘NO’. I pointed out about my refused visitors visa, but he says it will be mentioned after ITA and that section only asks about PR applications. Is it so?

Is it fine? Can I mention previous visitors visa refusal after ITA? Or will it create problems?

Please guide. I am quite worried.

Your "consultant" is wrong and he/she will end you up getting accused of misrepresentation and a ban. You can still rectify this in your profile. I also suggest that you do this on your own.

Thanks for answering my question,

I am too having that kind of a feeling. Please tell if it can be rectified now.

I am asking this because when I applied for Visitors Visa, I was given a UCI No. which is like 235XXXXXXXX. But now my profile for PR in EE is submitted, I am given a new UCI number which is like CAN0000057XXXX because my consultant has answered NO to the question where it was asked if I applied to IRCC before or not.

I am thinking if he had answered as a YES, my UCI number would have remained the same as that of my Visitors Visa.

So I am in a doubt if is too late to rectify it. But I have not received my ITA as yet.

Please tell what to do. Can it still be rectified? If not, what can I do?

It can still be rectified. Get login credentials and edit your profile and change it to yes with some explanation.

They have applied through their lawyers portal. So they are NOT giving me my login credentials. Still saying that it will be mentioned after ITA.

What do I do now?

Can I submit a new EE profile or first profile has to be deleted somehow before that?

What the hell? Why are stupid people so stubborn also?

Don't sweat it. You will be given another opportunity to mention it when completing the application forms.
Thanks,

But are you sure if it will be fine if I mention it post ITA, though not mentioned pre ITA. I mean I am afraid it might raise the VO’s eyebrow.

Don’t mind please, but I’m trying to confirm as my future is at stake. I think you all good guys here understand that.

Your UCI number would not have remained the same. It is different for PR applications than it is for Visa applications. The same happened to me as well. I even gave them my previous UCI number which was for my student permit but was still assigned a new one starting with CAN0000XXXXXX.

Also the consultants are right. You do get another opportunity. It is important that they mention this in the statutory questions. Make sure you let them know and ask them to keep the record for you, like screen shot or something. I also had a US visa refusal and in the statutory questions i had to mention it twice (i thought the questions very similar and so required me putting the information twice)

Thanks a lot.

Hell yeah, I will mention it everywhere after ITA for sure. Will it be fine if properly mentioned after ITA?

It should be fine. It is easy to make slight mistakes earlier on. The first application is basically just to make sure you have sufficient points for ITA. The real application is after ITA. And since this doesn't affect points earned it isn't that important in the first stage. But it is very important in 2nd stage because it is specifically asked in the statutory questions if you had visa refusal somewhere. Putting a no over there may constitute misrepresentation. So just ensure it after ITA and you should be fine.

Good question. It could be that I am applying as a family for PR now.

Earlier I had applied as a student for myself and my accompanying wife applied on an open work permit linked to my study permit. I mentioned both of our UCIs on my application but both of us now have a UCI number starting with CAN000XXXX.

Maybe my inference is wrong about PR applications. IT could be that I am applying from within Canada and I got this. Or i applied with family as a whole (including my children who earlier didn't need a visa to enter Canada) that caused the change. But it isn't unusual to get a new UCI number.

If you’ve provided your old details, your UCI will revert to the same old one (8 or 10 digit) once you get AOR. These CANXXXX formats are for EE only.

It’s better to amend it now and link your UCI number. That’s the whole idea of this being asked.

You existing application can be linked to your GCkey.

Ask for the UCI and application number, revoke their representation.
