Dear @legalfalcon
Please advise under the questions on the form IMM1295 and IMM008 - it asked "have you ever used any other names?" and in the instructions it says it could be your birth name, maiden name, etc.

My birth certificate first name is completely different from what I have been using since birth. I had it legally changed once I found out in 2006 that I have a different name on my birth certificate from the govt records and it was different from what my mother had, and so now there is an annotation and accompanying legal documents. All my IDs, diplomas and passport are of the name I've been using. Should I note the name on my birth certificate as other name on these forms? Either way, I will have tocinclude original Birth certificate and copies of legal name change docs as it's included in the check list.

Thank you very much in advance.
YEs. Also in the LoE, provide a copy of the BC and the legal document through which the name change happened.

Hello folks,

I got PPR yesterday and I have to submit the documentation to VFS Karachi on Monday. This forum has cleared many queries. I have just one question for which I need the help on this thread:

Q) Is there are other fees associated with the Visa such as "Visa Fees" or "Service Charges" other than the "Passport Transmission Service" ? I need to know if any Visa fee has to be paid directly to IRCC or at the VFS center?

Regards,
No fee to IRCC, only VFS. Call the local VFS and enquire. The fees varies based on the service you chose.

Hi Legalfalcon!!! Greetings!! sorry as my question is not exactly everyone asking here about, but having no way I am asking you. Your response much appreciated. My question about study permit.

I have completed ma BSS (hon's) and MSS from a public university of Bangladesh in 2011 in Sociology. Now working as Social/Policy Researcher in a prominent research organization and has 8 years experience in same. Now want to enroll in Public Policy in U of Saskatchewan/ U of SF, which help me to cherish my career as policy researcher further. But somebody saying that, I may get the admission letter from the uni, but will not get the Study Permit from the government, as they'll doubt about my motive that I have much experience and have the MS as well and doing this to increase my CRS score only and later I will apply for PR. Is it true? What the catch?
This is incorrect. Each application is judged based on its own merit.

If you get an admission and can meet the financial requirements, the degree you wish to obtain is a progression in what you have already done, this strengthens your application .

Hi @legalfalcon needed your suggestion
I had ordered and received GCMS notes on 16th October.AOR 7th June. According to which Eligibility was met. Moved to IP2 on 16th October and received a Ghost update on 18th October which generally precedes PPR mail.I have no travel history. But till now I have not received PPR. Should I be worried.???
Many people moving to IP2 later than me have received Ppr
Mate, there is nothing known as IP2. After your eligibility is met, this security starts. Duding this time the application is transferred to many offices for security, CSIS, CBSA, etc. this sometimes generates a ghost email.

Sio no need to worry. Also, you have not crossed the 6 months. So no need to worry, just wait it out.

And by the time I have replied to your question, if you may have received the PPR, Congratulations.!

Dear Legal Falcon,

I need help in choosing a suitable NOC code as my roles are overlapping multiple codes. I have tried searching everywhere but unable to conclude which one is applicable to me.

I work as an assistant relationship manager in a commercial bank. My job is to manage a portfolio of company accounts mainly borrowing accounts, review and analyze their financial position, prepare credit applications for loans and working capital, mobilize new assets and deposits and market new clients, negotiate on collateral and pricing etc.

I will appreciate your help in choosing which NOC code should I select for my work experience given your vast exposure and expertise in this field.
The only way to select NOC is based on job duties. Select the one that best matches your job duties. Also your work reference letter job duties should substantially match the job duties of the NOC you select

Hi @legalfalcon I called yesterday to cic and an agent told me that my application has been approved. But I havent received the ppr mail yet. I have checked my spam folders and cic account online but no request yet. Do you know how long could it take to receive the ppr mail after the app has been approved? Thanks
the PPRs are issued in batches, so it may take a few days after your application is approved and your getting the PPR.

Just wait .

Hi @legalfalcon,
Can you help me with this please ?
I'm AOR 5/03/2018. My Eligibility is in Review Requied since April and i have never been asked for any additional docs !

-I received my GCMS notes this week and it seems to me (see below) that they have a problem with the list of duties not present in my work experience letter. Can you confirm you understand same thing?
-Since i managed to get one with all the informations needed, should i raise a CSE with this new letter? Explain it in a LOE since i never add one (or just in the form) ?
-Can you confirm that the "Minimum Entry Criteria (MEC) appears NOT met" is also related to that list of duties missing?
-Do you think it would be a good idea to order a new set of GCMS notes like 2 weeks later to be sure they add that new letter to my file and maybe push it a little?

Thanks for you Help !

RECOMMENDATION: Review Required SUMMARY NOTES: officer review required for work experience: No LOE provided. The employment contract does not list duties. Minimum Entry Criteria (MEC) appears NOT met.
However, the job title and education are consistent with the declared NOC #2161. A11.2: Appears Met R75 : FSW MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – Review Required R76: SELECTION CRITERIA – FSW POINTS/Funds: Appears Met FSW points total :68 Ready to Finalize RPRF: Complete

A little bit below in the WORK section of the notes :
*REVIEW REQUIRED* Web-based search confirms employer information PA provided and employment contract signed 2014/10/01 and paystubs for October 2014 and February 2018. No job description provided. - Letter confirms salary of ##### - Documented Income provided: Pay stubs form 2014&2018 FSW Work: 0 year(s) 0 month(s) of 1 year(s) - REVIEW REQUIRED CRS Foreign Work: 0 years(s) 0 month(s) of 3 years(s) - REVIEW REQUIRED

- Your job duties in work reference letter should substantially match those that of the job duties of the NOC selected.
- MEC is different from CRS. You need to have a score of 67 out of 100 to meet the MEC. You have to meet the CRS and MEC to be eligible, if you are PNP or FSW.
- You can surely request GCMS notes as many times but make sure you have a gap of 2-3 weeks.

Hi @legalfalcon,

Could you please help with the below query.

I am currently residing in US and got the proof of funds letter from one of the US banks. The letter is just a printout in the below format. The letter doesn't contain any signature from the bank official. Please let me know if the below format would be acceptable.

<Bank Name> Deposit account balance summary

Requestor information:
<My Name, Address, Phone number>

Summary

A/C number Account type Open date Current balance Avg balance(12 months)

Deposit account balance summary request completed by:

<Name of the bank manager>
<Phone number>

<Disclaimer information>

<Business stamp that contains the name of the bank and address>

Thanks
This will work. If you want to strengthen this, you can also include a bank statement off the internet.

Hello @legalfalcon

I am a dependent and my wife is primary. AOR is 30 Sept.
Today, we received BIL (Turkey) but Medical is still not passed.

We have an ADR (Schedule A: IMM 5669) Background Declaration for me (dependent).

There is no gap for the last 10 years of personal & address history in eAPR. However, I went to high school in Italy (2001-2003) and one year university in Netherlands (2003-2004). (Since they were not in the last 10 years, we did not mention nor we got a PCC for them.)

Then I transferred to another university in Turkey which I graduated and got a WES for it.

We also have compulsory military application and I provided every detail along with the certified translation of Discharge Certificate (Appendix to LoE)

What am I suppose to understand from this ADR? Should I include my high school and 1 year university but the form still says it has to be the last 10 years. Also, some of my high school period were during before 18th birthday.

I will also copy the exact info for compulsory military service that I stated in eAPR to this ADR.

Why do they ask this and what should I do to make it correctly?

I have 7 days. Thank you in advance.
Only provide the details of the last 10 years. The ADR is sent when there is a gap in what you sent to IRCC, or something else. If you have military history, you will need to send additional forms.

Hi @legalfalcon

I've ordered CBSA notes, and finally received them. I've read across the forum how there should be 4 sub activities under security, but I only have 1 which says security screen in progress by CBSA. The status was updated on this subactivity it seems 6 months ago, but the due date remained november of last year. Any help on how to read this is highly appreciated. Also, I know my file is with CSIS, since I ordered CSIS notes 5 months ago and saw that it was with them.
Only after CSIS concludes its involvement, will cBSA proceed further. So first you need to verify if CSIS has finished its involvement.

Hi @legalfalcon
Help needed
Posting on behalf of a friend ..

One of my friends recently got WES evaluation - she has a bachelors and masters degree but her masters degree has been evaluated as a 4 years bachelors degree ...
Her evaluation states degree 1 - bachelors 3 years, and degree 2- bachelors 4 years.

How is this supposed to be treated for express entry-

1. Does it qualify to be under two or more degrees ??
2. Or will it be considered only as one 4 years bacherlors degree ??
3. How much impact does this have CRS point wise- keeping all other things as constant ??

Thanks a lot for ur guidance

1. Yes

Check on the CRS calculator.

Other subtype description is ECU not started before 1st April 2017.
The updated date is 12 June 2018

My re-medicals were cleared post submitting child exclusion affidavit R179D form on 21st June 2018.

Eligibility - not started.
Medicals, criminality -passed
Infosharing complete.
Security is updated in Feb 2018 with assessment field blank. And the re are two activities one in my name and one in spouse name..All blank.

Would you be able to help understand what the organisation name means??

Hi @legalfalcon,

Actually my LOEs didn't mention duties and responsabilities. I received the GCMS notes last month, the officer put my eligibility under review and my documents were set for review as well. I wasn't asked to send any ADR but I raised a CSE last week and sent both LOEs with duties and an update of POF. They've sent to me an email saying that the documents were forwarded to the department in charge of my application, but I don't know if the officer accepted to open the file. I know that there is no more to do from my side.

What happens generally in those cases? Will they take a long time to finalize the case knowing that my AOR is 7 july?

Thank you for your help.
Having jib duties is mandatory. If it is missing and you send it later, it then depends on the officer's discretion.

No neither me nor my hubby. Do they check for relatives..Coz my hubby's sister has travelled to America and Nairobi in last five years I think.

Can you explain what that means?
