I’m in exact same boat as you! Received DM on ECAS, but lawyer did not receive any update. However, I was able to find the status of my application by just calling +1 613-944-4000 and following the options i just my File Number and DOB and apparently on CGKEY it still BGC in progress.
I’m Italian and live in the UK too, I read that some get PPR (in our case request for copy passport) and some get COPR directly.

Congrats on getting DM! Feels great after the long wait, doesn’t it? There is still some unknown, but this is a great stage to get to!

It does indeed! My partner left to start his job in Canada in August and since then we have been apart due to both of us being so busy with work and now I can’t believe we’ll be together soon! Althought I am going 3 weeks for the Xmas Holidays, I had it booked the day he left!!

Thank you @Hurlabrick! Any idea how long after DM the COPR is sent? We are planning to travel back to the UK to wrap things up there end of Dec/early Jan (no tix booked yet) but wondering if it might take longer than that to have everything sorted and finalized.

Spreadsheet updated. You will see some timelines between DM and receipt of CoPR on the spreadsheet. Ours took about 3 days to arrive (UK address at the time), others have taken one, two or three weeks.

I just realized the COPR will be posted to his address in the UK...... is there any way we could have them send it to him at my address in Canada, do you think? Would sure be nice if he could land while he’s here visiting, then go back to wrap things up in Scotland...

You could try submitting a webform with a change of address, but debateable as to whether they would do it at all, or do it in time to make a difference as to where they send the CoPR.

Personally, I would leave well alone. Do you have someone that could /is checking his mail, and if so, they could courier it over?

Depends if you are from a visa exempt country or not.

If from a visa-exempt country (as CRM is), then you can travel to Canada to declare / activate PR once you have your CoPR - there is no visa to put in the passport (it is an electronic data set up).

If from a country that requires a Visa, then yes, you need a visa in your passport (and of course the passport returned to you) and your CoPR to do your landing trip.

The CoPR has a slightly confusing 'warning' on it which says 'NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL'. You can ignore this as all it means is that you cannot travel using the CoPR alone, you of course still need your valid passport.

Actually we sent our app to Sydney, NS, but then received all comunications from CPC-M and never got a file transfer email, so am guessing our app remained there, not really sure tho, as I’ve read sometimes VOs don’t send file transfer emails and since I’m Italian (but lived most of my adult life in the UK) the app could have gone to Rome VO as well.
Now waiting for PPR! Best of luck

Congratulations once again. I see your application was processed in CPC-M and make it fastest process so far. You are blessed and i believe you getting PPR this week. Mine was submitted in April and was transferred to London in July. All required submitted now just waiting for DM and PPR.

Do make sure to use a proper courier company (FEDEX / DHL etc.) and NOT Royal Mail!

To be honest I am so nervous right now, I have been reading all those people who got Pre arrival services/DM/PPR on same day and I only got DM and it is already been a few days. My GCKEY still says in process as well. I will post an update once I receive anything from them !
