Hello everyone!

Please help! I just received my Visa & is just packing my things & getting ready to go there. I have 2 declared dependent children that are included in my forms/application. We all took our medical exams last Oct. 2017 & we all passed.

My Q? is: After I have arrived there, how can I make my non accompanying dependent children follow me to Canada right away? What forms to fill up? Who do I contact? What are their requirements that I need to bring along with me? How long will the process take? Cause I really want them to be able to start the school year in Sept 2018.

Thank you for your assistance in advance!

Respectfully,
PH Immigrant

To get the kids to Canada, TRV will be the fastest option.
But with TRV they cannot go to schools. You may try changing the TRV to Study once here.

And as Scylla mentioned, you should be sponsoring them at the earliest.

Why did you not include your children as accompanying? It would be far simpler than applying to sponsor them after you land.

I will be staying with my sister who has a 3 yrs old daughter & she & her husband is working full time. Husband works during the day, my sister on a night shift. I don't know what job I will be able to get right away after I arrive there & what schedule I will be having. Taking care of the kids are our priority & knowing our schedules are important. Need to settle in & establish everything first.

You could have included your children as accompanying and had them do a soft landing, or depending on the validity of the COPR had them land later on once you had settled down.
Now since you'll have to sponser them once you land, there is a chance that they won't be approved before the school year starts.

Had you included them as non-accompanying, their visas/COPR would have been valid until the same date as yours, which should be Oct 2018, when the medicals expires.

It isn't too late. You can change them to accompanying as long as it's done before you land.

How!? I already have my VISA. We also thought about that but were hesitant regarding the waiting time for the papers to be processed here. It took me of waiting since 2015.

You contact the VO and ask them to change the kids to accompanying.

Hello canuck, I took your advice & send the VO an email regarding my concern. Their initial reply is that the request has been received & will be directed to the proper dept. In their email, they also stated this:
'We note that this file is currently within processing standards. We do not respond to status enquiries if the application is within normal processing times.'

Hi,
I'am also a PH immigrant, just landed last week. I have the same query as yours, my 1 year old son and my husband are both declared non-accompanying.
How will I get them to be here in Canada?

What did you do to get your kids? Are they already here?

You sponsor your husband under Family Class and he declares your child as his dependent child.
