Did you have a nomination from Quebec? If not then you will get a procedural fairness letter during eligibility.

Also see http://canlii.ca/t/gn7xb
Hi @legalfalcon, thank you for your reply! I don't have a nomination from quebec and that's the reason why applied in cec. But I am a contract based worker and i also provide an Ontario lease to prove my intention. Do you think I am still in eligibility review stage (it has been two months since AOR)? And by the contract and lease, am I possible to get the PR? Thank you so much for your time and I am really nervous recently.

Dear legalfalcon. Could you please check above GCMS notes? I have been waiting since 04 November 2017. Notes seem OK but still have not received PPR. Is there an indication of any problem in the application that I missed?
Although notes show eligibility passed, my account shows : 'We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.' Is it possible that my papers got lost? :)

Hi LegalFalcon, please help me on this

I have been approved by the province and got the LAA.

The dilemma is, i no longer want to go through PNP. In January I'll have 1 year of canadian experience and I would like to apply for CEC instead.

Can I do that? and If so, on the CRS calculator what should I say when asked "Do you have provincial nomination"?

Thank you in advance!

I would suggest that you request GCMS notes to know any concerns by the officer, which will be in his notes.

This is not normal. The AoR is usually sent immediately, or within a 24-48 hours after transmission of the application. You can go in your account and see your application and see the documents that have been transmitted. I assume it was just a glitch in the system that delayed your AoR

Hello Legalfalcon

Have a couple questions more hope you can please shed some light. Thanks in advance for all your valuable response.

1. I checked my bank account and saw that the cheque was cashed on October 1st, 2018. but still, I received my AOR after 20 days. Most of the applicant's medicals are being passed within 20 - 30 days. since I received my AOR after 20 days does this mean my medicals will take more 20 - 30 days from today?

2. Do you suggest I send a CSE to IRCC enquiring them about this issue and requesting them to look into this issue and also to see if they can expedite the process of my application since I lost so many days

Thank you in advance for all your help!

After your application has been submitted, you only have to inform IRCC if for change of address, move to a new country of residence, or change in family composition or criminal record.

For short travel there is no need to inform IRCc. Also, your PCC has to be valid on the date you file your application. Once filed, it is locked and you are not required to provide updated PCC every time you travel or the old one expires/.
Got it

Heaps of Thanks

Hi @legalfalcon, i have submitted my application in Oct 18. However, i have one doubt. I had an minor error in my surname and hence i got my passport changed (India) and my old passport was cancelled. While creating the EE profile, i have submitted details of both my passports and while attaching i have scanned and uploaded both my passports as i had visa stamps and travelled on both passports.

My query is - will there be any issue, since i have added details of my old passport which is not active??

US and Canada share a no fly list, called Tuscan. The note is to run your name against it.

See https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/jun/30/canada-us-tuscan-database-no-fly-list-trudeau
Damnnnn son of a gun!!! I'm assuming I got cleared of that because after that I was requested Sch A and then my SS started.

Quite bizarre though as I've visited Canada before and never had any issues entering or leaving the country. Or any other 27 countries that I've travelled as a matter of fact .

Hi @legalfalcon, thank you for your advice! I have ordered my gcms note 10 days ago, Today I got to know that I have review required in eligibility review, I guess it is because my Quebec residency. I would like to ask you can I wait unitl my contract ends and then move to ontario (march 2019) OR I need to move immediately? I have some family issues so it is really difficult for me to move now. Meantime, I provided an ontario lease as a proof for my intertion, could you give me some suggections. Thank you very much.

Hi @legalfalcon What is really checked during background check? Do they check only criminality and security or do they verified all the documents submitted again (work experience, funds, police reports, etc) ? Is it possible that an application is rejected at bg check after being told by an agent that the eligibility is met?

Hi @legalfalcon
I want to apply for express entry. My only problem is I live in USA and was granted asylum back in 2012. In 2018 the USCIS terminated my asylum citing fraud. I have a immigration court date in April 2019 then another immigration court date that is to be determined. My FBI record is clean as of today. Do you think I have a chance in getting PR through express entry?

1. Only after your application starts processing , will your meds will also be evaluated. So if your app processing was delayed, so will your meds be.
2. You can sure raise a CSE and ask, however, since your application is under processing now, I don't see a reason. Also, there is no way you can expedite the processing of your application.
