First, they will determine if the Sponsor is eligible. Without any problems you can expect this to take about 60 to 90 days (present speed
) when they acknowledged receiving your application (AOR1)
Sponsor will receive an email with AOR1
Also, you may search using your application number and either the sponsor's country and date of birth or the applicant's country and date of birth in the ECAS system (similar but not the same as the myCIC GCKey account).
As soon as you get AOR1, try to link with GCKEY here:-
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account.html Even PA can open her GCkey anytime with valid email.
At this point, It takes days/weeks/months depending on each case. Now Eligibility checks starts. Both for the Sponsor if he has a Criminal Records etc.. Also for PA . After checking all for completeness and eligibilities they send you an update. And at this stage file is sent to Visa Office where PA is living.
You may also be asked for the Medical exam too but some applicants get this request early and some later. After this, you'll get an email stating which Visa Office will be processing your application. When your file is received by this VO, you'll get a notification. This is the AOR2.
At this point there can be delays. Again a Background check is performed by Visa Office. The next correspondence should be a request for your passport (to insert your PR Visa into). This will signal that your application process is nearing the final stages. It could be many months before you get the passport request. They will send your COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) back to you after the passport request.
Hope this is satisfactory,Navdeeep Ji?
