Hi guys, my status in ecas changed to Decision Made.

I don't know when it changed since I logged in for the first time this week. I haven't got invite yet.

Usually how long it takes for Oath ceremony invite?

Depends, but usually you'll get an email or regular mail after 3-4 weeks, stating that your oath is 3-4 weeks after the day you get the mail, so about a 6-8 weeks after it changes to DM.

No they won’t speed it up because your PR card is expiring
Look that this ended up not being true! I called them earlier this week and told them that my Citizenship Application was underway. I told them I was expecting to be done with this before applying for my PR again. They got in touch with me yesterday and asked me for my fingerprints. Thanks for your comment!

The fingerprints request has nothing to do with your PR expiring- I had told them several times about my PR expiring too and was advised to go ahead to apply for PR renewal- and I finally did after almost 1 year since submitting my citizenship app. A friend of mine got FP request about 5 months into his application, and got no update at least 6 months after submitting it

Oh, I see. I guess it was a coincidence then. Wow! It took you and your friends really long! Did you have to do something after one year of submitting your citizenship application? That’s their deadline (12 months) if I’m not wrong!
Patience is the key word here. Difficult to compare ourselves with others’ timelines. It’s just a point of reference. Will keep you posted to see what happens. Thanks!

Unfortunately 12 months is not a deadline, it’s just an estimated time frame and a target . 80% of people seem to get it done within that time frame, but remaing 20% will not be that lucky - My friend just got his test invite, which will take place after his 12 month mark, and I am reaching my 12 month mark a week from today with no test invite- neither of us will finish before the 12 month “deadline”

Done with my Citizenship today 7:45 AM in Mississauga and thanks God I perfectly passed the test P20.

The officer said I have to wait in 1-2 months for the Oath.

It’s very normal there’s people who applied more than a year ago still waiting so you are not alone.

Will be almost exactly 5 years from arriving in Canada to Citizenship.
