Queries pertaining to Open work permit

Hello,

Being a spouse of a permanent resident of Canada I am applying under open work permit. I have certain queries regarding the same. Please ascertain me with the following queries as listed below.

1. Which one should i select
[a) Apply for Work permit with the same employer.
b) Apply for a Work permit for the first time or with a new employer.
c) Restore my status as a worker.
d) Get a new temporary resident permit (for inadmissible applicants only).

2. I dont have a family name only have the Given Name, so what should i mention in Family name.

3. Under details of intended Work in Canada. I have selected open work permit. But as of now i have not been employed with any company. So what should i fill up in Intended location of employment in Canada.?

Did you or have you applied for permanent residency via inland spousal sponsorship? If not, you cannot apply for a OWP just because your spousal is a PR.

1. Select b since you're applying for an open work permit for the first time, I presume?

3. Leave all those details empty (write N/A in them). These forms are used for different kinds of applications, including those when people are extending work permits with their current employers so they have this info. You don't. So anything about the employer, location, company, expected duration, etc, all of that should just have N/A in it.

For the name thing I'm not sure. You only have one name? I'm not really familiar with special name situations so definitely have to wait for other replies. Either way, it should be the same like on the other PR application forms.

Don't forget to pay $255, not $155 for the OWP. It's two fees, $155 + $100 so it comes out to $255.

Me and my spouse have got an opportunity to travel to Canada on W1 Visa, she has been selected for a project for 4 months and has received a employer specific work permit and I have received a Open work permit.


1. Will i be entitled to work with any employer across Canada with the Open work permit?
2. If my Spouse has to leave Canada after her project, should I also leave the country since her company has sponsored me for the open work permit?
3. Can i continue to work in the job i have got with the Open work permit, even if my Spouse leaves the country?
4. Should I get another work permit from my employer?

Can anyone clarify on the above queries?
