All the best to everyone for the 19th Sept draw....
BTW everyone focusing on IELTS, consider doing basic French course to increase points...It is easier than you might think....
TL;DR; Although, I agree that everyone should do a basic French course, French is not easy, especially if you aren't exposed to the concept of all nouns having either masculine or feminine gender. Also, basic French will not fetch you any points in the EE draw not a PNP nomination.

Below are the reasons why you should not study French as a short-term solution to get an ITA.
1. French is hard to master. TEF is hard for some native French speakers as well. DELF/DALF are accepted only in Quebec which does not operate through the EE system.
2. Can you learn the pronunciations, vocabulary, grammar and spelling with a basic French course? The answer is no. It takes years to master the speaking part and a lot of effort to build your vocabulary.
3. You need CLB 5 or above get any points for the French language. CLB 5 is CEPR B1. So, for 2-4 point increase, you will end up spending 1 year's worth of time.
You need CLB 7 or higher to get the bonus 30 points for French. So, at CLB 7 you are looking at a 42+ point increase.
4. TEF is more expensive than IELTS and the exam is not conducted in all the countries.
5. French might not add any value to your profile when you search for jobs unless you are applying to government jobs in Canada.
A masters in your field of work will add more value to your profile as well as help boost your EE points.
6. Canada is bilingual but they don't speak much French except for Quebec and some other eastern provinces.
7. French has the most number of exceptions when it comes to grammar.

Advantages of learning French:
1. “To have another language is to possess a second soul”. The way you think, speak and look at others changes when you realise how people other communicate.
2. You can assimilate faster in Canada and chances are you will be accepted more because people will think you are fully committed to living in Canada and respect both their languages. You can live in Quebec.
3. You can work for the government.
4. Your children will have to learn French in school so it helps to know a little bit of French.
5. French is a language that teaches politeness, a quality synonymous with Canada.
6. Vous êtes cool maintenant. Trop cool!

PS I’ve been studying French for a year now at the Alliance Française only because I love the language and the culture. Currently, I’m at B1 level.

How are you predicting this? If there was an IELTS exam on 1st Sep, the result will be announced on Sep 14 isn't it? Similarly, Aug 25th IELTS test takers will have results coming on Sep 7th isn't it?
You can check these sites for the IELTS global test dates:
https://ieltscanadatest.com/take-ielts/test-dates-2018/
https://www.ieltsessentials.com/global/registerforyourtest/ieltsglobaltestdates

Only IELTS General Test is applicable for Express Entry and 13 days after the exam, the results are announced.
The IELTS General Test was last conducted on Aug 18th, results came out on Aug 31st. The next IELTS General Test is scheduled to happen on Sept 8th, results will be out on Sept 21st (after the next draw if the draw happens on Sept 19th).

Also, IELTS results might be delayed, applicant may update profile later as the TRF is received after a week or so, applicant maybe waiting for ECA outcome, a lazy applicant who has CRS 480 could wait till the Tuesday before the draw to update profile :) , etc.

Lots of other factors also contribute to the intake, not only factors surrounding the IELTS results.

This is news to me, I was not aware of this. When did this start?
Its there from last 2 months and currently available only in New Delhi and Bengaluru. New cities are added in a phased manner so we could see almost all the metro cities of India within 3-4 months.

Hello Friends,
Last month i got LOA from MPNP and i am in process of applying full application in EE. The problem is my current address got changed which i can easily update in express entry profile. But in MPNP account there is no option to update address once assessment is complete and moreover my address is there on the LOA letter as well. Kindly advice if i can use my old address only in EE profile instead of new address just to skip mismatch in both accounts??

Next year the CRS cut-off will get even tougher that's for sure :(

HR just provided a generic letter and refused to gave what I needed. She is not really helpful at all. So, I asked the CEO who gave me what I wanted, but the company letterpad does not have any email address listed. Should CEO email address suffice. FYI, it does have company phone and fax number and also physical address, but not email address. What do you suggest I should do???
I think that's sufficient
