Hello guys!

Me and my husband are studying immigrating to Canada.
I actually have been studying the whole process since last year and checking the best options for us.

We have not taken any IELTS, we have not done our ECA, all we have done is checking our chances before we spend a lot of money in this process: we have done a lot of IELTS Practice tests and the prediction of our diploma through WES.

My husband is now studying and getting a second diploma, but he will finish this program just Dec/2019.

With his new diploma and with the medium grades we have been getting in practice tests, we would get a 460 score.
Without this diploma, we are stuck in predicted 433 points (and losing points every August - his birth month): again, with predicted ielts grades.

I want an OPINION about our situation:

Should we take IELTS and make our ECA as soon as possible and be right away in the pool (hoping for a CRS drop)
OR
Should we wait next year to take IELTS and get into the pool, after his new diploma, because we absolutely have no chance with 433 points? (and in the meanwhile, study study study for IELTS to get the best grades!)

(Taking IELTS now means spending a lot of $$$ and maybe having to re-take it in two years.)
(I think what I really want to know is: do you think a 433 CRS will have a chance until Dec/2019? I know it's really hard to predict, but what would you do?)

Unfortunately.without ECA and IELTS it will be hard to know for sure. I suggest you both take it and try switching who's the primary applocant and who's not. For ex if you re.younger and scored better at ielts you may get a higher score even if he has a better diploma.

He is the best primary applicant for sure: he is younger and have fluent English, since he studied, lived and worked in Australia and USA. :p

I have an advanced english, and although in practice test I get 8+ in reading and listening, I am really afraid of speaking and writing.

It's better to go for IELTS first and then based on your scores, get the ECA done. With 433, you may try for PNP too.

living and working in us and australia doesn't do much. you may be afraid but score higher :p
in all cases, do both ECA and IELTS and test things out. you can also aim for PNP. don't give up and don't waste time because it flies like crazy
