They are calculating the cost of your Humira on your dosage.
Not sure what you mean by a ghost email.
Thanks for your reply.

By 'Ghost email' I meant that I received an email on Saturday, 18th Aug saying that there has been an update in my profile and that I should log in and check for messages. However, I could not see any change in my profile. I have googled and found that many applicants receive such emails and are these are termed as 'ghost emails' for obvious reasons.

Yup there are monthly test but those don't cost more than 50 dollars a month and if you are stable your doctor will only see you once a year. Anticipated cost of complications is not factored as far as I know. Humira alone will hit about 19000 a year so it's cutting it very close .
Yes, I am very worried because of this fact! I have visited my doctor after a month of Humira (in July'18) and the prognosis is very good. Humira works like a charm for me. I am scheduled to see my doc after 6 months (sometime in dec'18). As per my doc, she sent a very positive report on my prognosis (She told me. We both work at UofA hospital, so communicate outside the clinic too). I am required to get bloodwork done once a year as of now.

Having said that, I know that each case is different. I do not like to leave everything to luck but there is nothing I can do at this point. I mentioned about my condition upfront during my medical check up. Hiding/lying was never an option as I think that might complicate things. The panel doctor told me that she respects my honesty and that a lot of people trying to hide land up in trouble later on, specially while applying for citizenship after a few years. So, as of now, I am extremely stressed out! I wish I had never applied for PR, just work for a few years and the go back to my country. The mental stress I am undergoing is costing me dearly.

There are new generics coming up. There is one coming up for humira in the next 3 to 5 years which should be 40 % cheaper so that's going to be a positive if you can bring that up.

Yes. I am gathering all the info about Humira that I can in anticipation of a procedural fairness letter. I hope it never comes to that!

Check on the alternative meds with generics. Your rheum may have to put you on one of these and convince them you will stay on it.

Not really any biologicals that are generic yet. I believe there was a recent case on Humira for colitis that was approved after procedural fairness so there is hope. Really it is better to do this now than during citizenship as the panel physician said. You are also very lucky because there would have been no chance 6 months ago. All individuals with autoimmune conditions are unique. Treatments have become much better but also a lot more expensive. Unfortunately a large percentage of patients end up on disability so that is also a concern. Best thing you can do is live your life successfully in Canada. All you can do is prepare for procedural fairness and show a successful life in Canada. Doing well at your job will help you no matter the outcome. Best of luck.

Hi, I can use some advice/comments here. I have rheumatoid arthritis and have been using Humira since June'18. I have got ITA on May 24th and submitted my profile on June 13th. I was asked for specialist's report on June 15th which I submitted immediately. Again on 29th June, I was asked to provide a report on Humira dosage, starting date etc which I did. Since then, my profile shows 'We are reviewing your medical reports', along with eligibility and background checks underway. I did receive a 'ghost email' on 18th August. Does anyone know what this means? My score is 486 and I am a postdoctoral fellow in Univ of Alberta. My husband works for AMD, Markham, GTA. I am the principal applicant.
Hello,
Did your panel physician uploaded the reports of 15 and 29 June?

As far as I know, the panel doctor uploaded my specialist's report (asked by CIC on 15th June) and information about Humira dosage and starting date (Asked by CIC on 29th June). I have not uploaded anything on my own, although I was planning to upload a letter from my insurance company agreeing to pay for Humira (80% coverage) and a letter form Abbvie declaring that I am on their patient assistance program (paying the rest 20%). I decided against it as CIC did not ask for these documents as of now.

Because I also got an email from medical officer to do additional tests. I did it after I had submitted my application. And my panel physician uploaded the results of the requested analysis. No I don't know what to do with new IME report my panel physician gave to me. Should send newn IME report to the e-mail which asked for the additional tests or should I wait for IRCC to ask for it if they are going to ask? I dunno what to do.

If your panel physician has already updated your medical file, you do not need to do it on your own. I think the IME given to you by the doctor is your copy. I am not sure though.

Has anyone sponsoring their mother with cancer had any issues? I have applied for my mother this year and should be getting medical soon. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2008 and then last year. She is currently cancer free.
I’m so anxious I feel like I’ll end up begging the doctor. She is in Toronto so the medical will most likely be here.
