The free year of parks admission makes up for lack of a MP letter. Shame it wasn't for provincial parks as well.
In Ottawa area that pass includes a few good museums, which is very nice. I checked other cities but the pass doesn't seem to have museums, mostly just libraries and parks...

They are busy trying to get information from IRCC about the forums members application and why it’s taking so damn long.

Also, the Election Canada letter is kinda more important: it should tell me when and where to vote, or at least let me know I'm on the voter's list, right? Maybe they don't send that because there's no election in the next few months?

I already know my voters profile is screwed up because of a mixed up identity issue with another immigrant with a name very similar to mine. His voter card was mailed to my address while I was waiting for the oath invite. I should probably get on top of that soon.

Nothing arrived yet for me either. However, I have taken the initiative to register for the electoral lists, federal and provincial, myself. I suggest that you do likewise, or you could be waiting forever...

For those who already took Oath, how soon did you get those letters afterwards? It's been over 5 weeks for me and I haven't received anything. Not that I really need those letters, just pretty curious...
It's been 3 months and a half since I took the oath of Citizenship. I still haven't received those letters.

Yet regarding Elections Canada, you need to register online or over the phone. This has to be done even if you checked the box asking for automatic registration with Elections Canada on your citizenship application form. You can check it here

I received a recognition of Canadian Citizenship certificate from house of commons 3weeks ago.I’m from Clagary and I took oath on may 28,2018

must be the budget cuts or something.
But its nothing special. You got your certificate, that's good enough.
Life goes on.

Let’s wait until the next federal elections.

Something tells me that we will be remembered in the weeks before the elections.

I can't wait to thank Linda Frum for her C-6 filibustering.

Thanks for the info. I just registered myself and maybe in the next election I'll come out to vote for whoever I think is worth voting for...

By electoral districts, please. I want to know which MP's specifically are slacking off.

We also need threads by region, by MP, by month, by party - every permutation and combination. ohhh...ohhh and threads on letters lost in mail. and like people go to MPs to complaint about IRCC, this time we'll have people going to IRCC to complaint about MPs.

About a week after I got my citizenship, I moved to a different riding, and my new MP sent me the certificate and the congratulatory letter about 3-4 months after I moved to the new place. It's a nice thing to have, but I doubt it has any legal significance (though I wonder how much more of a hard time I would be given at the border if I present this certificate instead of a passport or the actual citizenship certificate).
