Pardon me if this has already been asked in this forum.

When should I get a PCC from my country of origin if I am working in another country? Can I get it on the day I am going back to my country of residence or is it advisable to get it from the embassy?

you should get it after you have left that country of origin. So yes, get it from embassy.

Is everyone required to get a pcc from their country of origin regardless?

not everyone. it just depends on whether you've been there for over a 6 month period in the past 10 years or since you turned 18(if you turned 18 lesser than 10 years ago). if not it is not even gonna show up on your checklist. In my case I assumed it is required to get a PCC from my country of origin and got it only to later find out that it wasn't even part of my checklist for the same reason I explained above.

Ohh I see! I left my country of orgin at about 15 and have not been back to visit since then. I am guessing I would not need one from my country of origin then right?

yep, if since you turned 18 till now, you haven't spent more than 6 months there.
