Supervisas after the 1st visit are for 6 months. You can try to extend but there isn't a guarantee you will be awarded what you want.

So i have to purchase ticket less than 6 months even if my mom want to stay more than 6 months?

I probably would not buy a ticket and if it is an issue explain that she will wait before deciding exactly where you wanted to go home and point out that she left during your last supervisa stay. I see that you have also applied for PGP. She must not seem like she is moving to Canada on this trip. As I said before there are no guarantee she will get the extension she wants. Apply for the extension online and don't go to the US to enter and renew or she could be denied entry.

I am bit confused with "I probably would not buy a ticket " . Did you mean return ticket?
Yes my mom applied for PGP2018 as the dependent. But she is not intending to move to Canada but stay here in Canada with super visa for around 8 month ( father whoesis primary will not be accompanying during her 8 month travel) .

All she want to buy is one way ticket and decide on her return later as buying a return ticket and changing the dates later is hassle and expensive

Yes sorry I would not buy a return ticket. Many people arrive on a supervisa hoping to extend until they get PGP so that is why I mentioned that she should not appear that she is moving. If there are questions your mother can always also mention her husband remains in her home country.

Now i am clear that my mother with Supervisa can travel with oneway(onward) ticket alone and give the explanation if needed.

This is wrong information no link to any cic reference, supervisa is 10’years visa with 2 years max stay each time

It was actually correct in 2018 when the post was from. Not sure why you are referencing a post from that long ago.

Agreed, may be a disclaimer should be there information correct at the time info was posted, I was just going through board discussions and thought should highlight for any new person reviewing,

Most people don’t look at old posts since they know immigration rules changes. There will be many posts from 2018 will the old supervisa rules.
