When notarized documents required and why

Hi All,
I have got the ITA and preparing documents and would be submitting application and uploading docs docs in the next 2-3 days mostly. But someone told me that I have to send all the documents notarized to Canada.
Can someone explain it to me

Whoever that was, stop talking to them. Notarization is only required for declarations of certain statements like one and the same person, gift deed, letter of reference from a colleague etc. Nothing else is required to be notarized.
