Hi everyone, i have three questions about work experience. Hope someone can help me. I started my work in 14/8/2017, i should be eligible for 1 year in 13/8/2018.

I have three questions.
1. I hear my friends said that the system would not consider my 1 year experience until Sep 2018, so i can not get in pool for the second draw in Augest. Is that true?

2. This month, I have 4 days as leave without pay in one week for vacation (company offers me 15 days for vacation, but i used 19 days, need to have 4 days as without pay). Does that mean i need to wait for one more week?

3. I finished my degree in July 2017 and applied for pgwp in 7/7/2017, started to work in 14/8/2017, got my pgwp in 27/9/2017. Can i count my work experience from 14/8/2017?

Thanks for help

1 - You can create your profile once you complete a year of work experience. I don't know what your friends smoke but I would love to try it out.

2 - You cannot count unpaid vacation as part of your work experience, so those 4 days can't be counted.

3 - Yes.

Hi DelPiero, for the last point, shouldn't the work experience be counted from 7/7/2017, the date, OP applied for PGWP ?

How I look at is this, during these days of vacation, you are still on the payrolls of the company. The company decided not to pay you because you took extra days of vacation above and beyond the company's policy. That does not mean you were not employed by them during this period.

You are eligible. The unpaid vacation is not substantial enough to be a break in continuity.

Hi Seniors, I've a similar question. I am teacher working since Apr'15 on contractual basis in the same school (outside Canada). My contract term is fixed 6 months, post which I get a new contract even though it is still the same school. However, my experience letter excludes 2 months summer vacation period, even though I am paid for this summer break when the new term starts.
On request my employer gave me a letter stating I was paid xx amount for the summer vacation period (including specific dates). My question is if this letter would be acceptable to prove continuity of service or not? Please advice. Thanks
