Hi Kevin,Dear Members,
I had couple questions about PGP Sponsorship.
Both my in laws and parents received an email to go for a medical test and obtain police clearance. They are from 2017 intake and both of them have Indian address on their application and they all reside in India. But it turned out that my in laws file was send to Delhi for further process where as my parents file was sent to Ottawa. I'm a bit confused by this. I thought the file would always go to the local visa office where the applicants reside. I'm not sure why was my parents file sent to Ottawa. Do you know if this is normal?
The other question is about Medical Reports to be submitted. The Physician's office in Ahmedabad, Gujarat where they went for physical examination said that they mail the reports to Delhi, which is okay for my in-laws but for my parents, how would Ottawa office get their reports if the doctor sends it to Delhi office? I feel there is something off there.
The third and last question: Ottawa office has asked for my Father's travel details in form IMM 5562 (supplementary travel info). They have also asked for both my parents CV (Resume). Is that normal or something to be concerned about?
It looks like there is quite a bit of difference in the way Delhi office and Ottawa office processes the application. Delhi office has asked for none of these documents for my inlaws. They just requested Medical and PCC.
Appreciate your help!

you can create your cic account and link your application right away here is the link and there you can find your Medical info.Hi got an email from NDVo on 13th July to PLEASE DO SEND THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS: confirmation of medical exam form, copies of RPRF receipts, police certificates for you and your accompanying family members.
but seems like everyone else got an email on July 16th for medicals , which I haven't yet - maybe because our representative haven' created mycic account that why.
Wondering
1. If we don't have mycic account if NDVO will send and email for medical request.
2. for my parents application I have my dad as main applicant and mom and sister as dependent - will they also get individual medical request or my mom and sister will have to do upfront medical.
3. one of my frnd works at doctors office and does immigration medicals , she was able to see that my dad's medical has been requested by inputting dad's UCI but I don't have my sis and mom's UCI's yet that's why I am wondering if they have to do upfront medical.
Thank you. Really appreciate your help! This is very helpful.Hi Kevin,
Based on my experience, there is no rule to select visa office, and it's on discretion of visa officer. It might depend on workload at local Ottawa Office, but that's an assumption. My parent's file also went to Ottawa, though they have never visited Canada yet.
The doctors on panel will send the medical report to CIC electronically, so it doesn't matter where you go for medical as long as the doctor is on CIC panel.
Ottawa asked for my parents IMM5662 also but not CV, but some applicants were asked for CV. So again this is on discretion of the Visa Officer. As you have provided travel history earlier, they might just be confirming if travel history has changed since the time of application.
Thanks and all the best!
PCC is needed only in case of 6 months consecutive stay.Hi, did you have a similar case and was it accepted without PCC ? Because i called IRCC call center today and got conflicting information (usual for call center). They said 6 months are cumulative and I should submit a PCC. They put me on hold for almost 20 minutes to figure it out. so I think they don't know for sure.
Also, someone pointed me to the Express Entry PR requirements, and it clearly asks for 6 months consecutive. Not sure if PGP requirements would be different. Thanks!
Wonder if Canada is an exception. In any case, looks like I may not even be able to get PCCs for my father. Malaysia only provides one when one resides there for atleast 12 months consecutively. Mauritius only provides one for its Citizens, residents or work permit holder.PCC is needed only in case of 6 months consecutive stay.
It's my own experience.
My Mother had two trips in Canada and she spend 2.5 months and 4.5 months respectively in trip 1 & 2. For her PGP application, I did not need any PCC from Canada.
The doctor's office will provide you a proof that the medical exam was conducted during the requested timeframe. Often this is the same medical request form with Doctor's Office stamp and date. You can scan and email/ upload this letter to CIC.hello,
I got medical exam request from Ottawa in 2018 PGP , I need to upload the proof of medical exam.
what is medical exam proof?
Thanks,
I have created GCKey and tried to link it to my application using Family name and Application number, but the result is,you can create your cic account and link your application right away here is the link and there you can find your Medical info.
