Note that looking at the statistics for mid 2018, the application AOR timeline from date of receipt was around 30 days, but the processing start date was 60 days from that. Since April, the AOR timeline is 60 days and the processing start date is also around 60 days. Basis this, calculate your timeline for processing. Average processing completion for Citizenship applications in 2017 was 217 days total from the date of mailing to oath. I do hope that they will maintain this overall timeline inspite of the lag between AOR and processing.
Hi jangotrick,

You are very knowledgeable regarding the processing time. Thank you for sharing your insights. Would you mind sharing the source for the 217 days stat? Thanks

I took the stats from all the processing applications on Canadavisa.com for 2017 and ran a median calculation across the numbers. The results showed that 296 days was median processing time (middle value in the list of all numbers), 217 was the mean (average). Fastest processing was 18 days and longest processing was 346 days. If your application took more than 296 days to process, it would be mostly non-routine application.

I did rough calculations and will try to post a more visual statistics here. The longest processing timeline was Ontario and the fastest processing was Nova Scotia followed by Alberta. I have written separately to CIC so that they can publish their own statistics rather than we tracking our cases using these numbers. It seems that they are paying attention to the suggestions but do not have the resources to publish regular statistics.

Another interesting thing I found from CIC was the urgent processing was mostly for cases where asylum seekers who were granted residence were unable to get the passport from the country of origin for travel. Rest of the urgent processing cases are usually ignored.

Hopefully, Thanks.
But I have a question, if anyone's application is returned, how they are being informed? By email or just application folder will be sent back to home address?
Application folder would be sent back No email

Thanks to the member updating the tracker for May. Appreciate your time and effort.

App sent: 15/5/18
App delivered: 18/5/18
AOR: 12/7/18

AOR was a surprise because I was convinced my file would be returned. I had mistakenly submitted only passport and PR card copies. Somehow I missed the instructions that PR card is not acceptable. Luckily got the AOR.

AOR received 12 July. Application delivered May 10. Single applicant, Mississauga.
However when I checked online my address is not the same as per form submitted. I am not sure how come CIC is using my old address as a mailing address. Home address is fine. Tried to change mailing address online but not sure how it is going to impact my application

It would definitely be great if CIC shared their stats- ours from here are awesome, but still does not encompass ALL applicants, only those who choose to share their timeline here on the forum.

thank you for doing those calculations :)

I am in the same state. I have attached PR copies in my child's application. I am not sure whether they are accepting it. After AOR has been issued, won't CIC say the document is required?
