Hi,

Congratulations! The bulk of the time goes in conducting background checks and verification. Surprisingly, this time also varies a lot from one application to another. You can read about the forum terminology of IP1 and IP2 on other threads to understand the background check process in greater detail. Once the checks are complete the local visa office will send you an email requesting for your passport!

I have omitted some other intermediate steps such as ADR (again this is on a case to case basis) and eligibility clearance etc.

So once this medical is cleared and hoping that all background checks and verification is cleared too, how much time does it take for passport request to come from the time we submitted the application?

Again this varies. In some cases (very few) the AOR to PPR journey gets completed in 30-40 days! But the thumb rule is 4 months +/- 15 days
