@legalfalcon
My AOR date is August 04, 2017 and my file is being processed at London Visa Office. My medical is expiring on July 10, 2018. Kindly suggest me how to apply for extension, do I need to write to IRCC or LVO or both?

Thanks in advance!
Write to London for medical extension.

Hi @legalfalcon We received our PPR visa yesterday - It is valid till March 22 2019. I wanted to know if we can make a landing a week before the expiry of the visa? Would that be fine? Please suggest.
best regards,

Hello @legalfalcon ,
Thanks a lot for all your guidance. I did a soft landing in Toronto and received the PR cards at my Toronto residential address. Am currently in US to finish my Masters and would be relocating to Canada for good by Fall' 2018.
During my first landing, I could not take my daughter. Her COPR will expire in a month and am planning to take her for first landing to Vancouver.
Will there be a concern if her first landing is in Vancouver instead of Toronto. Please advice. Is there anything else that I should take care of in Vancouver .

Thanks,
Sasi

Hi ,

I want to know if there is some problem with medical , do the doctor tell you that there was a problem with blood work or something or do they directly tell CiC and we get to know Fromm cIc

I had my medical done in usa
In most cases after the medicals are done, the doctor will transmit them to IRCC as you have signed the form to do so, whatever the results are. However, the doctor will let you know if there is any issues on a personal basis, eg. if additional tests are required, as that is a protocol setup by IRCC.

Sometimes, the doctor will send the report to IRCC and IRCC will get back to the applicant and ask him or her to contact the physician to do some additional tests.

If you have any doubts, call the doctor and ask for a copy of the report.

I have already requested them for changing the NOC code but they never responded. Instead, 2 hours prior to sending me the intent of refusal letter, they emailed me

Thank you for your email correspondence to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) mailbox.

This email confirms the receipt of your emails and documents. No changes need to be made with respect to your NOC at this time.

On one side they are requesting me not to change the NOC code and on the other hand they are asking me to show 1 year continuous experience in NOC 2171 which I already explained them that I don't have. That's why requesting them to change my NOC code to 2172.
As a matter of rule, if you have a NOC listed in your profile, OINP will review your profile against it and it is your responsibility to make sure that you meet the program eligibility requirements.

Make a change post filing is something discretionary and depends on the officer to officer.

Thanks for the reply@legalfalcon. Now, how much time it will take for visa officer to verify and pass? what level of verification will be done? when can i approximately expect ppr? I am a FSW-O from India
See
https://www.getgcms.com/blog/express-entry-application-processed/

There are some other posts on the application processing on the form which I have written, you can search them too.

No one can predict the time line, but 80% applications are processed within 6 months, and the 6 months starts from the day R10 is passed.

To keep a track of your application, request GCMs notes in regular intervals and see how far your application has progressed.

Hi legal falcon, I received my CBSA notes which were generated on 9 April, I wonder why did they ask for 60 days extension and after that they sent 2 and half months old notes. In notes it is written sII indicator : yes and in admissibility security section it is mentioned Security screening :A (34) comprehensive . Please help what does it mean.
Federal agencies take extension for many reasons, these reasons are listed on Access to Information Act.

A34 refers to regulation 34 of the CBSA manual.

Hi @legalfalcon , i have some questions and would appreciate if you can help me.

I am at the stage in my application where it says" we are processing your background check" preferably i have heard its called the IP2 stage in the forum.

My ques:-
1) i am SINP nominated and want to know the reasons and the chances ircc can reject my application bcos of designation being different than the noc applied. My job responsibilities match the noc however the organization had a diff way of desinating.

2) i am having only ex employers and no current job, i hv taken exp. Letters signed by HR and roles responsibilities approved by managers, then what are chances ircc will do verification? Trying to know if i shud give headsup's to ex employers.

3)does "we are processing your background check" means my file is at VO?
There is no such stage as IP or IP2. This is mere speculation based on your MyCIC status, which is an inaccurate way of tracking. All application as per the immigration law go through the following:

R10
Criminality
Medicals
Eligibility
Security

To read on this see https://www.getgcms.com/blog/express-entry-application-processed/

1. Whether you are PNP or FSW you have to meet the CRS and MEC. CRS is the score, and for MEC (minimum eligibility requirement), you have to have he applicant must have accumulated at least one year of continuous full-time (or the equivalent in part-time) paid work experience in the occupation identified in their application for permanent residence as their primary occupation. In calculating this period of work experience, the occupation must be listed in skill type 0 (Managerial occupations), skill level A (Professional occupations) or skill level B (Technical occupations and skilled trades) of the National Occupational Classification (NOC)

The applicant’s skilled work experience must also

  • have occurred within the ten years preceding the date of their application for permanent residence; and
  • not be in an occupation that has been designated as a restricted occupation.
As regards the NOC, your job duties in your reference letter have to substantially match the Job duties in your selected NOC.

2. The reference letter should have the following:

a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
  • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
  • should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits
If your reference letter has all the above, and on a preliminary search your employers can be identified, through an internet search etc, then there is no issues. However, you should always let your organization know and IRCC may contact them if need be. But, the best way to track your application is via GCMS notes. Request them and see if the officer has anything adverse in it.

3. Not necessarily, you will need GCMS to know where your application is at.

in what stage of the application is travel history checked?
eligibility, criminality or security?

on CIC's offical guide on security and criminality here, https://www.canada.ca/content/dam/ircc/migration/ircc/english/resources/manuals/enf/enf02-eng.pdf, i couldnt find anything about travel history so im guessing officer looks at it during eligibility phase?
This is checked at two levels, first during criminality to ensure that there are no gaps, and then this is reviewed in depth by CBSA and CSIS during security screening. You can check my detailed post on this here: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/the-anatomy-of-a-background-check-in-depth-analysis.500146/

@legalfalcon ,I was charged with driving dangerously and causing hurt to a person around 1 year back.
Recently, the complainant has agreed for settlement and to withdraw the case.
The charge sheet was filed and the charges on the FIR(First Information Report) were quashed by the Court based on the settlement between both of us without any penalty or fines.
I have got the ITA and while filing the application, the question in personal information asks "have you ever been convicted,Charged with any criminal proceeding ?"
1.What should I answer ? I already have applied for PCC and got clear report without anything about the charges being mentioned in it.
2.Will there be any delay in processing of my application if I write yes ?
3.Any possibility that CIC will reject my application even on being acquitted.
The answer will be yes, and you will have to describe that you were charged, but the charges were withdrawn due to a settlement and also provide the supporting documents.

2. No, there will be no delay.

3. No, since you were never convicted, your admissibility on basis of criminality will not be affected.

Thanks Legalfalcon.

1. How about I enter my home address from birth to until my marriage,
2. Then enter the rented place address from the next day to the date I shifted back to my home address again,
3. Enter my home address as the current one with new start date.
You can do it either way, just don't leave any gaps.

Thanks friend. I will just go with my name in passport in same order.

How about my wife's name. Her name in Bio page contains the name before marriage and in the Observation page it contains the name after marriage,

1. Shall I put the name before marriage and,
2. Then enter the name after marriage in "other names"
The name as it appears in the passport will be what you will have to enter in the forms. However, if she changed the name, then you will have to enter that and explain it in LoE.

@legalfalcon,

What should I do if my Education Institute does not give the exact start and end dates of my qualifications. I wrote to them but they didn't reply.

Can I put an approximate start date and the end date as per the certificate issued date?
YEs, IRCC is only concerned with month and year.

Dear Legal falcon,
I did soft landing in last week of april with my wife and 2 kids and returned back . I gave my relatives address for PR card.
2 weeks back my PR card was delivered along with the letter that my 2 daughters photos needs to be resend because of wrong size to which i did.
Strangely no PR card of wife was received or no letter stating she also needs to send photos again.
Its been 2 weeks now and i am getting worried about my Wife PR card.
Shall i raise CSE. Please advise
Yes, raise a CSE and ask.

Had CSIS not completed its part, CBSA shouldn’t have released notes. CBSA is the last
@Xaiby Please do not provide inaccurate information. CSIS and CBSA are independent agencies. Even if CSIS has not competed its screening, it has no impact on CBSA releasing its report. @Mzub
