An update. I updated my telephone number before getting an AOR and got this response right now like 2 seconds ago. Basis, this hold on till you get an AOR to update your file.

Do I have to submit police clearance?

So I was in pakistan from nov 2017 to April 23 2018 .
In 2016 I was in pakistan for 3 weeks.
In 2015 I was in pakistan for 10 days.

So In total it is more than 180 days but not 180 days in an individual visit.

Do I have to submit police clearance?

You should note that for the eligible 5 years basis which you are applying for citizenship, the 180 day clause only applies to cumulative period of stay within the 4 out of 5 years. It seems that the 4 years immediately preceding the application include 2015 as well. It seems like a PCC will be required and the best way is to get a PCC or to wait till your 180 days stay outside of Canada cumulatively in one single country is reduced to 179 days or less. Then a PCC Is not required.

My wife was in a similar position. We ended up applying for a PCC because our period of absence was within the middle of our eligible period. So if she had to wait to NOT have to apply for a PCC, then we would have had to wait for another 6 months. For our specific case, we applied for a PCC and it took about 1 month to arrive.

Atleast 60 -90 days after processing starts. Now, your file will travel to the processing centre and you will get a notification when processing starts.
