Cost of a lawyer or a immigration specialist for spousal sponsorship

Hello everyone,

I am currently living in Canada with my wife who is a citizen of Canada. We got married 4 months ago but could not start the process to apply for PR for me because of being so busy. So, we are looking for a lawyer or a immigration specialist to start this process to help us about our questions and other stuff..but we do not know how much it costs to get this services so is there anyone who can give some information about this?

6k for a very well respected and reputable lawyer for us.

In hindsight, we should have just done it ourselves as we are entirely capable. Could have saved a lot of money, although they are professional immigration lawyers...it saved us some time in the beginning, but that was it.

Don't get a lawyer. Coming from someone who did...you don't need one, and they are notorious for making errors that can delay your processing. Take the time to do it yourself.

We were quoted something like five to six hundred ish to do that instead of moving forward with a rep.

Either go with a reputable and expensive lawyer or do it on your own. We've seen too many bad answers here from professionals who don't actually have a good grasp on the process.

All the questions that I’ve had regarding this process (TRV and PR) in the past couple of years have been answered on this forum, for free. I am super grateful for all the feedback and guidance I’ve received from people here.

That being said, our case was fairly simple so we really had no need for a lawyer. I know in some cases it might be necessary if you’re situation is complicated..

ours cost 3k she is register plus worked for 25 years for ircc and cic as an officer she took over her father business

Only Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their family to become permanent residents.

If you want to immigrate to become a permanent resident, you can look into different economic streams. (EE, provincial nominee ...etc)
And you can include your family in your application.
