hello,

I am PR card holder of Canada since 3 years. My wife is in India. I am applying for spouse visa under family class. Please do help with my following quarry :
1. She has stayed at 2 different states/province in past 5 years . Does she need to proceed for PCC from both the states / province of India.
2. We have mutually decided to retain my wife last name , as it was before her marriage and to continue her pre marriage last name after our wedding too. Is it necessary to change her last name to mine last name ? The marriage certificate is documented too with her premarriage last name .

1. You need Police Certificate per Country not per state (e.g., if she lived in Punjab and Delhi state/provinces, she only need to get one PCC from Country not from the individual state/provinces).

Refer........How to get a police certificate - India

Refer....checklist......
  1. The country where you (or they) currently live, if you have lived there for six months or more; and
  2. The country where you (or they) have spent most of your (their) life since the age of 18.

2. That's not a problem.......its not mandatory she should change her surname.........the decision to change surname is yours.
