not sure of that actually... work can demand travel anytime...
so, suggestion is to get PR renewed... right?

My Recommendation, you should get renew your PR card. You should be ready in case required to travel otherwise NO harm. I don't think so 50$ is a big deal compare to risk you may have if you need to travel.

Simply logistics; not being able to get to an office due to being out of town with work commitments etc.

Any answers to my questions? Did you apply for a passport?

I applied in person and got passports of whole family in 1 week.

I applied in person for whole family and received passports at home through Xpress Post from Canada Post in 1 week without paying any extra penny.

I wouldn't risk it in that case..regular processing could take up to 2 weeks. Go for express service

Hey Guys,

Here is my situation:

Citizenship application was delivered on Oct 20th, 2017.

I have since received TWO AORs:
- 1 on November 30th 2017 on an e-mail address I do no use anymore that IRCC had for some reason in their files (and it took me a few months to see it since I don't use the address anymore)
- 1 on January 19th 2018 on my current e-mail address (the same I've used for my PR a few years ago and for my Citizenship application).
- My online account says my application has been IP since December 16th 2017, so a month before receiving my 2nd AOR.

Nothing since.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? I have tried calling CIC a few times my calls never go through and I always end up being hung up on before I get to speak to anyone.

PLEASE HELP or share your experience if that sounds familiar

Calling can be difficult and in some instances, it may be not be possible to be connected most times. However exactly what you have said above, I would advise submitting the same details on the secure web form at the below link. Fill out the relevant areas of the form and submit your question and ask for an update. The form will be processed and you should expect an update in due course via email on where your application is at. Keep monitoring your online ECAS updates too.
