I got offer from VIU ( Vancouver Island University) . Nanaimo Campus

Location: Nanaimo, Powell River, Duncan, Parksville-Qualicum Beach, British Columbia

Can you please help me about the living conditions there.

These municipalities are in Vancouver Island. You need a ride a ferry from Vancouver. Can't say much about living conditions there because I been there for a sightseeing trip and that's 6 years ago. Expect Nanaimo housing cost more expensive than the rest because of the direct ferry link with Vancouver.

For a room in a shared apartment;house I'd expect $550-600/month minimum. For 1 bedroom for yourself a minimum of $1000.

What about the availability of part time jobs ? Can you tell me the basic payscale for part time jobs ?
