Hi,
I have 6 days to submit my application and somehow I have managed to confuse myself on my proof of funds letter.
My proof of funds letter is signed and stamped by a bank official, is on the bank letterhead and lists my name, account number and average balance for the last 6 months. It does not mention the current balance.

Question:
Is this letter enough? Somebody told me that more than average balance, current balance and the monthly balance for last 6 months is more important because your bank balance can be 0 for months 1 through 5 and 120,000 for month 6 and then when you average it out over the past 6 months your average balance would still be 120,000/6=20,000.
Is this true that we need to list monthly balance for the last 6 months? Or my letter with average balance for the last 6 months only (no current balance) would be sufficient?

If they failed to provide such piece of information then you can upload your most recent bank statement to compensate for that.

Oui. The other information that someone told you gave me a headache so I ignored it.
Thanks for confirming that my letter with current balance is enough. My bank has been really good and I think they will provide what I want, so one more question for you and I can rush to the bank one last time for this.

which one is the better choice?

a) letter with current balance and average balance for the last 6 months
b) letter with monthly balance for the last 6 months with/without average balance. Will putting average balance on a letter that has monthly balance make any sense though?

It doesn't matter. Both of the approaches you mentioned are fine, there isn't a better option.

The one that follow's IRCC's guidelines though is option "a".

Thanks for confirming!
Here's what I did and it worked for me really well with no questions on POF for my PR.
1. Get the photocopies of your bank statement for the last six months stamped by your bank - scan them and upload them (it's always better to get everything validated by banks wherever you can).
2. Take a current balance certificate from your bank on it's letter head - scan and upload it.

Always remember - if you provide validated information from bank, it'll work on your favour. Also ensure that the funds you show in your bank certificate should be more than what the requirement is.

I hope this makes sense to you.

Guys I have one concern. My agent only uploaded the balance certificate of my savings account with the latest date only.No bank statements nothing. He said that it is sufficient for now.My concern is that it does not have the account opening date(though it is a very old account more than 10 years) and it is also does not show 6 months statements. It just mentions the below thing

“The balance outstanding as on date 7th january 2020 is below:-

It mentions account number, balance name , saving account .etc”

So do i need to be concerned for this.My agent do have taken the stamped bank statements but did not uploaded it he said if they want it they will request for it as we have given on the bank letterhead, so we dont need to worry for it.

Also the balance certificate is on bank letter head dully signed and stamped. Please comment
