Spouse in Canada Class - Police Certificate (help!)

Hey guys, so I'm almost done with my application and the only thing I need now is the police certificate, but I don't know how long it would take to get it and so my question is, for anyone who has gone through a similar situation, is it possible for me to send my application still and attach a letter explaining what happened? or would they send me the application back? The country I need a certificate from does require the document to be send along with the application (unlike other countries where they tell you to wait til they request it), so I'm not sure what to do. Please help!

But what if I go to the consulate of my home country and they tell me it takes around 1-2 months? Does CIC not allow me to attach a letter of explanation?

If the instruction say to include the police certificate, it should be in the application. If you don’t include it and it’s on the checklist, you risk your application being returned as incomplete.

That's so confusing, because on the CIC website it says :
What must I do if I can't get a police certificate for my immigration application?
Explain in your own words why you can’t get a police certificate, and include the explanation, and any supporting documentation that you already have, with your application. We will review your explanation and let you know if we need more information or documentation.

This refers specifically to PCCs that people cannot get AT ALL, not ones that take awhile. It does not apply to your situation.

You can send the PR app with a letter of explanation and proof that you have applied for the PCC. If you do that, while it is possible that the app may be returned, it is not likely.

No it doesnt. It MUST be submitted with application meaning you have to wait to get the check to submit your application

which country is it?
I sent my application on Jan.23
They did not require my PCC go alone with the application. They asked my application after they received it. (I think it is the same with everybody since the form we downloaded are the same "at the time")
However in your case if you insist that they do require, why not just wait for the PCC come down before sending in the application? :/

Many people submit the app with a letter of explanation and proof that they have applied for the PCC. IRCC generally accepts that.
