Hi,

I have been here in Canada for more than 5 years, I did Masters here with canadian work experience of nearly 1.6 year. My CLB score is 6 in all with CRS Score of 407, Still I'm working with contract employer till this december end. But my work permit expires this month end
My Ielts score is CLB 6 in all section, but need to achieve 7, I tried four times but can't make it.
Is there any way to reach more or it's possible to get closed work permit from employer
Any suggestions

Hi,

Please try with CELPIP, many of my colleagues not received CLB 7 in IELTS, but they achieved in CELPIP. Hence try with CELPIP immediately, you might be getting required CLB.

If you want to get a closed work permit, your employer needs to obtain an approved LMIA.

I just realized your work permit expires this month. In that case you don't have enough time to switch to a closed work permit since the LMIA process typically takes 2-4 months to complete. If you wish to remain in Canada, you will need to apply to change your status to a visitor visa before your work permit expires (and then stop working as soon as your work permit expires). Once your employer has an approved LMIA, you can then apply for a closed work permit.
