I am looking to apply for my citizenship in the near future and have questions about my name. My name on my passport is:
Surname:
Given name: ABC XYZ
Now when I first came to Canada, I was able to get my name on the Health card and Driving license:
Surname: XYZ
Given name: ABC
As a result, my driver's license has the correct name. When I got my PR, my name came as follows:
Surname: ABC XYZ
Given name:
Now applying for citizenship, I want my name to have the surname and the first name as it in Driving License and Health card. CoPR cannot be changed and since I am getting ready to apply for citizenship, do not want to go with PR card name change. Since, it is a name split only and not an actual name change, do you think it would work without proof of name change on citizenship application?
If not, my passport is up for renewal but since I am applying for citizenship do not want to get that renewed as well. Point being I can get my name split on the passport if I go and get a new one. Would that alone work or I would have to get the name change done in the province (which is effectively a name split)?
As anyone been in this situation before?
Thanks.
