University of Victoria - September 2018 intake

Lets share our application statuses here.

I applied for MEng Mechanical on 12th December and the status says "under review by department" since then.

I applied for MSc Computer science, Industrial option, on the 15th of December 2017. The status currently says "under review by department". Anyone got an admit?

I recently emailed the grad department about updating my academic transcript. This is what they replied:

"Firstly, the MEng program has limited space and is given priority to domestic students. I would advise switching your application to the MASc program, unless you have already secured a supervisor who is wishing to accept you into the MEng program.
You should be able to update your documentation through your application. If you have any difficulty updating your application, please contact the Graduate Admissions and Records office."

So, looks like an unofficial rejection letter to me. Also, I never knew securing a supervisor for MEng was important (if not compulsory).

Any Update From UVIC? And can you both share your profile?

None yet. Looks like they just hold rejections till April and then send them all together.

Bachelors GPA: 3.44/4.00 (7th semester)
Rank: top 4% of the batch
Projects: 2
IELTS: 8.0 (no band below 7)
Work Experience: None (only done 3 internships, one-month each)

With your profile , you should have got it... I don't understand why they rejected you. You did not give GRE?

They haven't officially rejected me as of yet. But indirectly, they have told me that they dont have enough seats for internationals in MEng.

No, I haven't taken GRE.
